I'll tell you I'm against anyone eating my dogs. In may be wrong to us but that doesn't make it wrong to other cultures. And they maybe our pets and friends, but in some other cultures they're livestock just like cows. It is this kind of closemindedness to other cultures that is making the US one of the most hated countries in the world. We expect everyone else to think and act the way we do or there is something really wrong with them. This kind of thinking is what starts wars. I find that kind of thinking unacceptable. You don't have to necessarily like or agree with what other cultures think or do, just accept it as that is the wait it is and don't try to change them. How would you like it if someone attacked your way of doing things and tried to tell you that you are unacceptable, you would get defensive.

Added: We ARE telling you what we think. That we can't judge them and say it's cruel and unacceptable when our culture is different then there's.

I have a different view on it. I really try to keep an open mind. As hard as it is for me to conceive of eating what I consider mans best friend I know that I must keep in mind that we scarf down tons of beef and pork every day here in America. The cow is sacred in some cultures while the pig is the religious equivalent of eating feces in another. How can I condemn one culture while I carelessly ignore the thoughts of another?
On the other hand... while I am not horrified by another culture eating cats and dogs... I am absolutely heartbroken by the cruelty and lack of care that is taken most of the time in the methods used in the killing of these and the other animals that they use for food.
So for me... it is not the meat but the method that brings me to frustrated tears.

I would never choose eat dog meat because to me a dog has the connotations of being a pet. However, I don't feel I can negatively judge those that do; it's common in some cultures. Some cultures think it's horrible to eat beef, but I eat beef because in my culture it's perfectly acceptable.

Its their culture to eat dog, its how they are raised. I guarentee you they don't have problems with over crowded animal shelters like we do here in the US. Do you eat cow? Can you imagine what people from India think of Americans eating beef all the time? Open your mind dear, not everyone is brought up the same way you are.

im against it but I'm not going to tell anyone not to eat it. BUT I DO have a problem when they torture them. if your going to eat dog do it in a humane way. yhe people who torture them deserve to have that happen to them. *sighs* but once in china these dog burglars were stealing a dog from a villiage to eat it. and the village woke up and beat up the dog snatchers. dogs are the best they don't do anything to hurt anyone (most) karma's a b*tch i hope those people get what they deserve for hurting a poor dog

when man first domesticated the dog,it wasnt for a companion or even a guard dog..it was another food source. a lot of the stuff we eat is very strange to people from other cultures too.Dogs, cats, monkeys, horses ,rats ,just about any animal imaginable is or has been a food source.

Dogs are no different then cows or chickens.. Then technically thats prejudice to argue that it's wrong to eat dogs if you believe it's alright to eat chicken/cows..

People think that about us when they find out we eat cows. I try to respect their culture an understand that we all do things that others don't think is right.
As long as I don't eat dog that is all that matters.

Try to be open to other cultures. Some people may think it is strange to not eat meat. So don't get upset about it.
