Exactly. The UN has "difficult debates" over global warming, and that's taken as proof that scientist agree. Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is politicians debate and compromise. That isn't science.

The "cure" for "global warming" is always the same. Higher taxes, more government control, and loss of individual freedoms.

We need to protect the future for our children. Once we sell out our freedoms, we will never get them back. Global warming will cause our freedoms to become extinct, and extinction is forever.

Because the National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and similar organizations are not political. And they ALL say global warming is real, mostly caused by us, and a serious problem.

Thoughtful conservatives know the same thing.

"Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich challenged fellow conservatives to stop resisting scientific evidence of global warming"

"National Review published a cover story this past week calling on conservatives to shake off denial and get into the climate policy debate"

"Pat Robertson (very conservative Christian leader) 'It is getting hotter and the ice caps are melting and there is a build up of carbon dioxide in the air. We really need to do something on fossil fuels.”

Ford Motor Company CEO William Clay Ford, Jr. "I believe there is now more than enough evidence of climate change to warrant an immediate and comprehensive - but considered - response. Anyone who disagrees is, in my view, still in denial."

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

Statement from Meteorologist, John Coleman,
the founder of The Weather Channel.

"It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.

Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild “scientific” scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda. Now their ridiculous manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmentally conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minutes documentary segment.

I do not oppose environmentalism. I do not oppose the political positions of either party. However, Global Warming, i.e. Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you “believe in.” It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of lifelong expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a nonevent, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.

I have read dozens of scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct. There is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismissal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.

As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped.

The sky is not falling. All natural cycles, drifts in climate are as much, if not more responsible for any climate changes underway. I strongly believe that the next 20 years are equally as likely to see a cooling trend as they are to see a warming trend."

What must be done to mitigate the effects of global warming will have political ramifications, but whether or not anthropogenic global warming is occurring is purely a scientific question.

Of course, I assume you all ready know this. But judging by your name, I doubt you care. You aren't interested a bit in the science behind global warming theory.

I have no idea.

You have liberals trying to intimidate others others into silence. Tim Ball has been issued death threats. Questioning the global warming theory is one of the most politically incorrect things you can do.

You have scientists accepting any theory as long as it fits their beliefs. The badly flawed hockey stick graph was accepted without question.

You have politicians giving grants to scientists as long as they support the theory of AGW. Tim Patterson claims his grants were lost when he changed his views.

Anybody who dares to question the theory is greeted with the following rule:
1) Do not discuss the science
2) Attack the man (he is in the pockets of big oil)
3) Repeat the mantra (AGW is the biggest threat facing mankind)

Global warming is a scientific issue.

What we do about global warming is a political issue.

Unless you first understand the science, you cannot make an intelligent political decision. Many people skip the scientific understanding and go straight to forming a political conclusion, which leads to poor decisions.

Global warming - and the "remedies" to stop it - are very much political issues... Otherwise, the Kyoto Protocol would have required the "developing" nations to reduce their emissions with the technology that's readily available from those "developed" nations that came up with the technology.

Instead, Kyoto told the developed nations to further reduce their emissions, while allowing the "developing" nations to continue spewing pollutants into the atmosphere unchecked.

ya its political, If Algore had to give up room in one of his mansions to a homeless bum every time he gave a AGW speech. He'd be selling Cadillacs right now.
