Half-unplugged; there are many other illusions besides religion.

Nobody wants to die thinking there is absolutely nothing after this. Religion is a comforting mechanism; a child's binky.
It is also an attempt to keep order in this world by a list of laws.
And lastly, it is an excuse for men to justify their superiority over women. I am glad to have had the red pill.

When I saw those words "Fellow atheists..." I got a little scared. I thought that a revolt was going to happen. Glad that it is just a question, because I can't find my bible. Hopefully a christian lives next door to me.

Well, feel the back of your neck. Is there a plug there? If not, don't worry. I don't have a plug either, just the right to have my own opinions

I'm sorry I don't follow the Matrix. Keanu Reeves acting makes me want to overdose on any kind of pill just so I can stop watching.

It does seem like that doesn't it. I sometimes think that believers are under some mind control mechanism, that some how does not effect me and other non believers.
That so many people can believe in some unseen/uneccessary magical entity that is reading their thoughts, is so surreal that it blows my mind.

Good analogy. Who knows, it could be real, too. People will always take the easy road, where they are most comfortable. The familiar appeals to them. Fear is a big christian holding pen, also.

Because ignorance can be bliss. :) Remember the bald dude with the steak? Yeah, he represents religious people.

Good question.

They really believe that non-belief will lead to an eternity of torment. From their perspective, questioning their beliefs is too dangerous too consider.
