><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Exactly what kind of fruit did Eve and Adam eat?
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
A tree to be desired to make one wise.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Their eyes were opened, they perceived, they knew.
They sewed fig leaves together and made aprons not to cover their mouths.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.3:11 And He said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
What had God commanded?
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Not every tree including the tree of life was off limits but only the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was.
You shall surely die, speaks of the death of soul and spirit, not the flesh body.
Adam lived to be 930 years old and nobody has perished yet, not even Satan.
Adam and Eve ate assimilated or consumed knowledge from the tree of knowledge of good and evil Satan.
That is why God later said.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of Us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
We all must eat assimilate or consume knowledge of the tree of life Jesus Christ to live forever.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Gen.3:24 So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
To keep the way of the tree of life God placed straight gateposts and a flaming sword.
Our God is a consuming fire and His Word is a sharp two-edged sword.
><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><> ><>
Matt.7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matt.7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

No. Man was forbidden because of what the tree of knowledge of good and bad symbolized.
Even a moron could have obeyed the command. Adam and Eve were not morons. Just selfish and covetous.

the tree of knowledge of good and evil....
The Catholic church (and other religion followed) developed the concept of good and evil... even murder and lies is called good according to the church's
"It is an act of virtue to deceive and lie, when by such means the interest of the church might be promoted" Bishop Eusebius (260-339)
"How well we know what a profitable superstistion this fable of Christ has been for us" Pope Leo X (1513-1521)
good and evil reflect the church's needs.... but through out the development of humanity and the evolution of human conscience came the concepts of right and wrong... often right and wrong were found to be the opposite of the church's good and evil... knowledge of this would destroy the church.... that is why the woman is condemned for knowing this and then passing it on...

If you have no idea about Christianity, dont whine about it and make stupid comments about it.
ANYWHO
It was called the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil, meaning, that if they had eaten it, they would realize they were naked, and that they had an ability to sin.
Plus they already HAD of sinned, since God said not to.
He was protecting them.
If you want to get really deep, lets look at solomon.
Obviously, as he was the wisest man on earth, and still looked up to even in secular teachings, its obvious followers of God aren't meant to be morons.
God wants us to be wise.
How else will we defend ourselves against people who are trying to tear us down?
He said all we had to do was ask for wisdom and he would give it to us.
Soo...yeah, anything else you want to take out of context so I can prove to you the actual meaning behind it before you make a big deal (or steal someone elses already posted question) out of it?

It was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, not the tree of knowledge...Check your sources as you shouldn't want to appear to be one the "human morons" you mentioned.

No, it was this really big issue. God was the one to tell them what was good and bad. His not allowing them to eat of the fruit was their recognition that he had the right to tell them what to do.
Satan and apparently some of the other angels said, "just because you made them doesn't mean you have a right to tell them what to do. They will learn from their mistakes and just let them do what they want to do. in other words leave them alone.
But the truth is Satan wanted to be worshipped and wanted them to look to him as the one in power. Realizeing he was third down the line. Almighty and Jesus and then him he even came up with this trinity where they could all be equal.
So mankind has had over 6000 years to prove wether we could rule outselves effectively. After numerous wars and brutality it looks to me like God was right and Satan was wrong we can't do it alone.

Because the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge only worked for Gods. When Humans ate it, something far more dangerous happened: they thought they had knowledge of Who Should Live and Who Should Die.

I think it was a test to see if we were smart enough to disobey orders. Without knowledge of good and evil life would be about simple animal pleasure. We were forced to think and choose and we chose wisdom.

Because God did not create man to know the differences between good and evil. HE alone decides these things and we are to follow HIS lead. Wanna see what happens when a bunch of sinners tries to do this? Just take a look around my friend.
