Is this the verse you are talking about?

2Co 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, He became poor for your sake, so that you might become rich by the poverty of that One.

Here is the proper Biblical exegesis on this verse:

(1) that though he was rich;
in the perfections of his divine nature, having the fulness of the Godhead in him, all that the Father has, and so equal to him; such as eternity, immutability, infinity and immensity, omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence, &c. in the works of his hands, which reach to everything that is made, the heavens, the earth, the sea, and all that in them are, things visible and invisible; in his universal empire and dominion over all creature; and in those large revenues of glory, which are due to him from them all; which riches of his are underived from another, incommunicable to another, and cannot be lost:

yet for your sakes he became poor;
by assuming human nature, with all its weaknesses and imperfections excepting sin; he appeared in it not as a lord, but in the form of a servant; he endured in it a great deal of reproach and shame, and at last death itself; not that by becoming man he ceased to be God, or lost his divine perfections, thought these were much hid and covered from the view of man; and in his human nature he became the reverse of what he is in his divine nature, namely, finite and circumscriptible, weak and infirm, ignorant of some things, and mortal; in which nature also he was exposed to much meanness and outward poverty; he was born of poor parents, had no liberal education, was brought up to a trade, had not where to lay his head, was ministered to by others of their substance, and had nothing to bequeath his mother at his death, but commits her to the care of one of his disciples; all which fulfilled the prophecies of him, that he should be דל and עני, "poor" and "low", Psa_41:1. The persons for whom he became so, were not the angels, but elect men; who were sinners and ungodly persons, and were thereby become bankrupts and beggars: the end for which he became poor for them was,

that they through his poverty might be rich;
not in temporals, but in spirituals; and by his obedience, sufferings, and death in his low estate, he has paid all their debts, wrought out a robe of righteousness, rich and adorned with jewels, with which he clothes them, and through his blood and sacrifice has made them kings and priests unto God. They are enriched by him with the graces of his Spirit; with the truths of the Gospel, comparable to gold, silver, and precious stones; with himself and all that he has; with the riches of grace here, and of glory hereafter. These are communicable from him, though unsearchable, and are solid and substantial, satisfying, lasting, and for ever. Now if this grace of Christ will not engage to liberality with cheerfulness, nothing will.

Jesus had no where to live
Luk 9:58 And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere He may lay His head.

And only one tunic when He died, He was not materially wealthy. The Gospels give no indication of this.

Certainly not... I went and re-read it trying to find what you are using as a source. Nothing in it comes close to your assertion, so I am still at a loss. The Gospels make it clear that he was not wealthy and Paul does not contradict that...

OK, is it a misinterpretation of 2Corinthians 8:9f? "You know the grace shown by our Lord Jesus Christ. Even though he was rich, he became poor to help you. Because he became poor, you can become rich."

... Phil 2:3 Don’t do anything only to get ahead. Don’t do it because you are proud. Instead, be free of pride. Think of others as better than yourselves.
4 None of you should look out just for your own good. You should also look out for the good of others.
5 You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does.
6 In his very nature he was God.
But he did not think that being equal with God was something he should hold on to.
7 Instead, he made himself nothing.
He took on the very nature of a servant.
He was made in human form.
8 He appeared as a man.
He came down to the lowest level.
He obeyed God completely, even though it led to his death.
In fact, he died on a cross.
9 So God lifted him up to the highest place.
He gave him the name that is above every name.
10 When the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone’s knee will bow to worship him.
Every knee in heaven and on earth and under the earth will bow to worship him.
11 Everyone’s mouth will say that Jesus Christ is Lord.
And God the Father will receive the glory.

The riches Jesus had as God are far beyond any human imagination, yet we are told that he abandoned all of that for our benefit.

Not in the sense you are thinking. Imagine the God of the universe. The one who created everything and to whom everything belongs. Now He wants to redeem the people He created to love Him. He steps off of His thrown. He lays aside His power. He leaves His city where streets are paved with gold. Then He come to Earth to be born as a child. One who was dependent on His mother and Earthly father. One who could get colds, was hungry, needed to work for a living. Though He was rich in Heaven He came to Earth to be poor so we could be saved. Makes me want to shout and praise Him just thinking about it.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

No, Jesus wasn't FINANCIALLY rich.
You can 'prove' almost anything by twisting God's Word. There are 2 places in the Old Testament that says, "...there is no God." So, there must not be any God.
(Psalm 14:1b and 53:1b...forget the firs part of the passage, just believe the second part, RIGHT? That proves it then. hahahahaha)

If you think Jesus came to make you a poor man...YOU have seriously missed the point of the gospel.

Riches is not contrary to the gospel....God provides abundantly for his children....if you hate those who have His abundance then you are in sin ...and teaching contrary to the principles of Christ....
..
i am very wealthy and happy to give abundantly to the poor and to the spreading of the Gospel

i am sorry that you are preaching the Bad News of being poor for jesus.....

Rich in spiritual wisdom.

Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

There are plenty of misconceptions about what is meant by being rich and in what way Christ was rich - you are proof of that. The richness of Christ is something no amount of money can buy.

No, of course not!

2Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

This verse says that although Jesus had everything (He was in heaven first, you know) He gave all that up to come to earth in order to save those who choose to believe. That gives all who believe a place in heaven with Him!

Because,
By the deeds of the law there shall no person be
justified in God’s sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin and all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:20, 23
Then,
They all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:12 Also I say unto you, whosoever shall confess me (Jesus) before men, him shall the Son of man (Jesus) also confess before the angels of God: But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.. Luke 12:8-9
However.
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
For,
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6
Therefore,
If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. Romans 10:9
Then,
He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white robes; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
So,
That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:15
