okay so about 10 months ago we caught 2 cats that were totally wild. We got them neuterd/speyed and kept them inside for about 4-5 months.
We could pat one like normal, but not the other. We finally let them outside and they went next door and got trapped and attacked by the neighbour's big dogs. The one we could pat came back, but the other was trapped for a week.
We managed to trap her again and get her back. She will let us pat her now, but is still wary. We Want to let them out again, but don't want them to get trapped next door again. How do we stop them going there? They like going there because the neighbour has a tree where lots of birds go.

PS our neighbours are nasty too

Keep them indoors!!! This is just another horrible story of exposing cats to the dangers of the outside world. I don't know if it's true, but someone told me that in heaven, people and pets roles are reversed, and those that cared for pets will themselves be taken care of, while those that didn't, will be at the mercy of the angry beasts. If it's true, I know I won't be caged and beaten.

You know there's danger over there that can get the cats killed, so DON'T expose them to that. Either keep them indoors, or build an outdoor enclosure for them in your back yard. Anything else is going to get them hurt.

Stop letting them outside if you know they are in danger. They will not stay out of certain areas, especially if there is food there to hunt.
