We played the song Adam Sandler sang in "The Wedding Singer" at the end when he was on the plane "Grow Old With You." It was really cute and we actually got a few comments about how much the guests liked it. The first one is just the lyrics and the second link is Adam Sandler singing the song.

Well it depends on what kind of mood you are trying to set. But usually the time of the reception in which you cut the cake is generally fun and light hearted. At my wedding we actually played the song "Cut the cake" by AWB (Average White Band). It is a really fun party song. Check it out here:

There's no special song - it's just done to regular background music, or just nothing. It usually happens right after the dinner and speeches, and just before the first dance, which is when the band or dj would start.
