Yes, and after about 30 years of underwhelming results that could have been obtaned in any other way, it is apparently clear why there is no evidence for any miraculous event recorded in the bible or any other holy book.
In reality, it's not the convienent "Not god's will" or "He is teaching you something" excuses that led me not to believe, but that there is no evidence. Take a look at the exodus, if you objectivly read most christian sites, you will find long segments of "the bible says" followed by "there is a trade or military route from Egypt to Isreal" or a papyrus mentions Egypt conquering Isreal in the 13th century BCE. These are clearly not evidence. The same holds true for nearly everything else in the Bible except given locations and civilizations.

The other night I raised pre-flop with KK, with one caller the board came out JQ 7, opponent checks , I bet big. After thinking about it he calls. Turn is a 4. He moves all in. I call. He had 44. I prayed to the poker gods for me to hit my 2-outer. King on the river. Clearly this is evidence of the existence of poker gods. When I don't hit my set the other 95% of times, I obviously didn't pray hard enough.

I have prayed and the lack of results caused me to actually think about what I believed at the time, causing me to logically conclude that a Judeo-Christian God does not exist.

Yes, I've prayed up until I was 12 years old. And no, praying causes no results.

When I actually believed in a 'god' I did pray. I realised early in age that I was actually talking to myself.
Praying and not getting an answer was not why I do not believe in a deity. It is the simple realization that the concept of a deity is absurd.

maximum of the individuals of atheists have been subject to the youngster abuse of being compelled into christianity at an fairly early age and being compelled to desire. Praying felt like a waste of time - in basic terms like speaking on a telephone that isn't related to an imaginary buddy!! attributable to training and growing to be intellects that section passes relatively immediately!! acceptance of a supernatural declare has a tendency to sell cooperative social relationships. This communique demonstrates a willingness to settle for, without skepticism, the impact of the speaker in a manner akin to a toddler's acceptance of the impact of a be certain. with the help of encouraging one in all those habit the place the main severe social relationships happen it helps the shortcoming of skepticism and deters greater open minded questioning. they are christian, Muslim or the different religions based the place they have been born because of the fact they have been indoctrinated with the help of their dad and mom as very youthful babies. they are going to flow directly to indoctrinate their very own babies and those will flow directly to indoctrinate their grandchildren!! Atheists have the mind to work out throughout the conditioning and escape into the actual international!! Agnostics have the mind to work out throughout the conditioning yet lack the braveness to throw of the conditioning fullyyt. regrettably Christians are nonetheless held firmly prisoner with the help of the self perpetuating brainwashing!!

Yes, I have. I was raised Christian.
The "results" of prayer was not the only thing that caused me to become atheist. It was a combination of things. (All involving no reason to believe that God is anything other than the invention of men.)

Yes, I use to be Christian......and no, it was not the results, or lack of. Mostly in my prayers, I have never asked for anything. I have been fortunate in my life to always have what I needed, whether atheist or Christian.
When I was Christian.......my prayers actually consisted with conversing(albeit one-way) with "God." Which seems REALLY silly now that I am an atheist.

Back when I was still a Christian.
The results had nothing to do with it. They told me in Sunday school that all plants were created before the Sun and stars. I knew that was BS. In fact I thought they were lying about the Bible saying that until I checked for myself.

If we ever prayed, then we wouldn't be atheists.
Well, I HAVE before, but that's not the reason I'm an atheist. Even if God is real, I would still defy him and choose to go to hell. He is too discriminating and man-made.
