I think a major part of the reason homosexuality is wrong is that God, the creator of all things, made male and female people. He made the man and woman to be a perfect fit for each other. He gave them sex for love, for comfort and for making babies. Relationships between two women or two men violate God's created plan and order. It doesn't work out as the "manufacturer" intended.
God loves homosexual people. He hates the act of homosexual sex. He calls it an abomination - an old fashioned word for something totally wrong/detestable.
Homosexual relationships are not helpful for children in a home and may lead to real confusion for the children. God gets VERY angry when people do things that hurt children. Homosexuality is just not healthy and productive as God sees things from His view as creator.
This is the best answer I can give, I don't claim to fully understand. I do know each person is a unique, special piece of God's art. The Bible says He loves us and has a good plan for our lives. This is true for all of us. Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus? He loves you so much. You are special to Him.

The Bible does not say that homosexualty is wrong.
The Bible does say it is wrong, an "abomination", to eat pork or marry folks outside their race or to mix wool and cotton clothing or to go to work on Saturday and many other things we might see as perfectly innocent.
But to avoid all kinds of nonsence, we need to understand what the Bible is, how it came to be, who wrote it, where it was written and to whom it is addresses. But that's another topic.
The term "homosexuality" doesn't appear in the original Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek of the Bible. The word itself was first inented, coined, used in the late 1800's to describe same gender sexual attraction and relations.
So the Bible has nothing to say about what we today now call homosexuality.
The Holy Bible is a book made up of many different souces written over hundreds of years. The Scriptures the Christain Church calls the Old Testament, the Hebrew or Jewish Scriptures, contain religious history, originally oral history, poetry, sayings, the preaching of many Hebrew prophets, and other kinds of literature.
The portion we call the Law of Moses, like Exodus,Leviticus, Numbers, Deauteronomy do speak to all sorts of behavor and practices, including but not limited to certain sexual behaviours including passages that seem to prohibit same gender sexual activity in the same way it prohibits the eating of pork, the sexual relations with women during their menses, the wearing of cotton and wool garments at the same time and sowing more than one sort of crop in a single fields at the same time.
In the New Testament we have numerous prohibition against rape and prostitution which were common during the Roman occupation.
Why? The Jews were to be a "seperate" people and were to shun and avoid practices that were common to their neighbors, in a similar way the members of the early church centuries later were to avoid things that might link them to pagan Roman and certain Jewish behaviors and practices.
But none of these laws or prohibitions address the affections and relations people of the same gender have for each other either in ancient times or modern. Except, I must say, the greatest commandment of all; to love God with our whole being and to love others as God loves us.This is true for all people in all times and places.
To take a modern prejudice against people who are different and cloak it in religious garments seems a greater abomination than mixing wool and cotton.

The bible never said Homosexuality is wrong. Neither did God ever say this. There was one person who objected to Homosexuality during biblical days. For some reason whenever people bring up anything they always lie and say that God calls it an abomination. Which is untrue. You have to remember that the book was written by human hands. MAN wrote the book. God is not an author. No one has ever even seen God. Yet there are all these lies about what God feels or says. Homosexuality is normal. Homosexuals have the same fate on earth as anyone else.

Fornication is condemned.
The Bible never gave any grounds for Homosexuals to merry.
Fornication, or simple fornication, is a term which refers to consensual sexual intercourse between two persons not married to each other. In contrast adultery is consensual sex where one or both of the partners are married to someone else.

The Bible's reason for saying anything is wrong is for ourselves to judge BY ourself that God wants us to know WHO we are. When God came to people, He came to individuals, who lead a way to show the TRUTH.
Homosexuality IS NOT WRONG...
This is somewhat "said" in the old Testament.
In the Old Testament, they show how to atone for sins and other things. The ten commandments were there for a guideline to the community that Moses received.
Everything in the Old Testament is meant for those who want to follow it... who need that type of a lifestyle.
When Jesus came, the New Testament (hence the word NEW), this washed away sin and ushered in a new covenant from God.
This is where MANY religions especially Christianity are mixed up in the belief system.
I can't remember what the scripture is exactly but you might want to google it. "anything is permissible by me" excluding adultary. These were the words of Jesus.
So, when people give you the argument about how being gay is wrong.. ask them to show you in the bible where it says that. When they bring up the part of "Sodom and Gomorrah", tell them that's in the OLD Testament, the time when people sacrificed for their sins.
THEN show them the New Testament, and how the Laws of Love (God's Laws) shows what Jesus came to show us and WHY He was sacrificed!
I have more teachings on faith and scripture if you want to check it out...

well speaking as a man i will just say in common sense,,, a woman has an vagina and a man has a penis, made to fit together,
penis on penis don't fit and vagina on vagina don't fit, even animals seek out the opposite sex,, doves mate male to female for life, and if all thought homosexuality was right than man kind would be extinct,,,
but the concept that the same sex is attracted to each other in my opinion is this..
it is nature to want to do the wrong thing instead of the right,,so the heart is enticed by the devil and pursued by the flesh...
this is not even going to the bible, to tell ya its wrong, though it is wrong ,,according to the bible, but without even reading it we know the truth,,,, don't you think?

It is God who sets the standard for human behavior. One such standard is that fornication is wrong and stands condemned. Fornication comes in various forms. It includes adultery. It includes sexual intimacy between people who are not married. It includes any sexual behavior on the part of angels. It also includes sexual intimacy between people who are the same gender.
Both Jesus Christ and Jude show in scripture that fornication is wrong and that sexual intimacy between people of the same gender is classified as fornication.
This behavior is wrong because it falls under the Bible term porneia (fornication). In the Bible, fornication, no matter the form it takes, is always condemned.

Oh please people, if you think homosexuality is wrong, then don't do it! Honestly, it can't be easier! This is not a response to the question, but rather to the awful responses from so many narrow minded busy bodies.
