Psalms and Proverbs are always good. Psalm 23 gets quoted by many people.

History? The books of Samuel and Kings. Chronicles gives a lot of the same material as both, but with a God-centered emphasis.

Numbers 6 has the famous benediction ("The Lord bless you and keep you . . .")

Also in Numbers is the story of Balaam and the donkey. A good short story, but also of God's care for the nation of Israel. I hope you find good things. By the way, please keep us posted about the school activities. Many of us would like to know!

Check out the book of Jonah for a good story. Or the book of Hosea for a chance to see God's personality and heart.

Nehemiah chapter 9

If you read that particular chapter, you'd find out that it is the longest prayer written in the Bible. Very extensive and it says most about the law and the faith.

God bless.
