The only rule is if you're married, you cannot have sex with anyone other than your spouse.
If you're single you can have sex with anyone who isn't married.

There are VERY few rules with regards to sex and the military. Lets face it the code for gay people is basically dont ask dont tell dont harass dont pursue. So if someone is gay but does not flaunt it and doesnt introduce his male friend as a boyfriend and hold hands and such they are fine. There are absolutly no rules on position or anything. There are some really strict rules about adultery so if your married you better be faithfull UCMJ can make your life pretty miserable (I know one petty officer that while she was pregnant from another man not her husband she got the extra added joy of extended work hours and 1 day on 1 day off duty along with a hefty pay cut and lost 1 rank and had her name pulled off the list to be eligable for promotion (effectivly lost 2 ranks!)) You are thinking of the blue laws in MA that are somewhat crazy in how restrictive they are or maybe you talked to a chaplain that is primarily christian.

Huh? Please explain. What "Rules?" Like the old rule about the missionary position being the only authorized position? Or infidelity? The answer there is, depends. No to the missionary position and yes to the infidelity.
I remember returning from Desert Storm, the Commanding General of the base had a standing policy that wives caught cheating while we were deployed, were removed from base housing. Lots of guys came "home" to new apartments. Including me.

Not ALL military men look for sex online... Sounds to me like you were talking to someone and found out thats what he wanted, but don't generalize the military like that. Besides, lots of regular guys join those things just for sex.

Military life is different. There are strict rules about adultery. If you are in a position where you can be ordered away from home for long periods of time, you want to have confidence that no one on base can hit on your spouse without consequences. (If your spouse wants to fool around with civilians, that is a different problem.)

The only rule regarding sex I remember is this one:
They will screw with you
You screw around, you get screwed
The VA is programmed to screw with you
As far as sex with the opposite sex, if you have to salute it, stay away, if it salutes you, follow orders!

Sodomy and adulatory are violations of the UCMJ.
These are both hard to prove violations and are normally only prosecuted when a service member is being investigated for another crime.
