I'm 19 and im 5'11 around 180 and i want to work out, and lose some of my fat off and gain some muscle... here's my problem i love to work out at night on the weekdays, but i go to college and all my classes are in the evening so i cant work out at night (Mon. & Wed 3-7:20 , Tue & Thurs 5 - 9). But when i was in highschool it was great bc i used to go to class in the morning and come home at 3 and then at 7 go for a run out side, so it all worked out. Recently my family & I cancelled our gym membership bc we were low on money. I have wieghts and i can run outside. But every morning i wake up i want to go excercise but im too tired to do it so i dont. the worst part is i dont even have a job so i have no excuse not to work out and get back in to shape. can anyone help me or give me advice???

I say you start workin out 3-4 times a week, preferably 11 or 12 noon with ur schedule. This way you can get a good work out in and have plenty of time before class. Also, if you still want to work out at night, you should just use the gym at your school.

I dont mean to be a jerk but that is an excuse. I have had this problem before. I had a job where I worked 7:30am to 9:30pm with a 40 minute commute each way. You have to find a gym that is 24 hrs (most are nowadays). Then either get up early or work out immediately after class. Many gym memberships are $0 initiation fees and $19-$24/month. You can scrape that together. New Years will bring out all the gym specials. Mind over matter.

Habits are not that hard to make, but tough to break. Sounds like you may have Had a good routine before, so getting back into it should not be to hard, if you can break the lazy morning habit. Get up Early a couple of days and get out, don't even work out if you don't want to but if you are on campus, I know you will see other people working out, maybe even some one you know. It much easier to get started again if you do it with someone with you. Lots of Girls do there running in the morning, could this be incentive?

Just try to fit in some mini-workouts whenever you can. For example, try to take the stairs more often, and park the car a little farther so you can walk more.

Try to ride a bike, you can do it for just 20 minutes a week even. Or you can play some basketball or tennis or whatever you like once a week maybe.

Oh yeah, and if you have a PS 2 consider buying the Eye Toy - it's a workout in itself and you get to have fun. Same goes with the Wii.

So just take it gradually ya know - and remember also that to lose weight you'll need to adjust your diet a little too. Try to eat more healthy, you know - go to subway more often.

I see two solutions.

One is to work out at night, just later. It might be too late for a jog, but you can still do weights and other cardio like jump roping in your backyard.

The other is to work out before class. Unless you wake up at 2 pm every day, there must be some time between when you wake up and when you go to class.

You really just have to make time in your schedule to work out.
