Basically, for the unfaithful- a sobering picture of judgement; for the faithful, it is a glorious picture of reward.

No problemo.

Isaiah 66:22-23 appears to be an Old Testament prophecy which is later highlighted in the New Testament writings of Saint John in the Book of Revelations (Apocalypse), specifically Revelation 21.

The former earth and heavens shall be destroyed altogether (with fire particularly) and God will establish a new earth and heaven, apparently after the tribulation period, the false prophet and antichrist, Christ Jesus' millenial (1000-year) reign on the former earth (Revelation 20:6), the great throne Judgment and resurrection (Revelation 20:11-15).

First, God is speaking through Isaiah the prophet to the nation of Israel. God is telling the people about something that's going to happen in the future. From other Scriptures, even in Isaiah, we believe there is going to be a real, political kingdom with Jesus Christ as King. The verses you listed are only two of an entire chapter.

So in some simple terms, there is going to be a time, either weekly, Sabbath to Sabbath, or monthly, "new moon to new moon", when people will come to worship the Lord personally. The last verse talks about the fate of those who rebel against God during that time.

It simply means that man will dwell on earth and God with man. Which is why the belief that people will dwell in heaven is not biblical. Revelation teaches that death, hell, and all sinners shall be thrown into the lake of fire. There they shall not die, their burning shall not quench, and all mankind shall look on them for eternity. Which means that those in hell now, are only there until judgment, when they shall be thrown into the lake of fire. These are prophecies which shall come to pass, and are found in the Old Testament, New Testament and Revelation. We cannot pick and choose our bible, we must just believe.

There will come a time when the Lord is going to destroy all that he has created in the present universe because, since Adam and Eve things have deteriorated from their created state.
Those whom He has protected from that destruction, "the redeemed", will become the inhabitants of a "new heaven and new earth" which He will not destroy. We will then live under what we would now call a Theocracy that will be similar to the Mosaic (given by Moses) form of worship. One of the major differences being that God will bodily reside in that world with us and we will be able to worship Him directly.
"From one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, " refers to the established periods when we will be able to come directly to God, face - to - face. Travel will not be a problem because we will be empowered to move at the speed of thought...maybe even inter-dimensionally. I think Heaven is going to be really - really cool.

22 For as the new heavens and the new earth,
which I will make,
shall remain before me, says the LORD;
so shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 From new moon to new moon,
and from sabbath to sabbath,
all flesh shall come to worship before me,
says the LORD.
The next line is interesting too!
24 And they shall go out and look at the dead bodies of the people who have rebelled against me; for their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.

This is a promise to those who have accepted Jesus Christ's atonement for their sins that one day there will be a new heaven and a new earth, when God will be with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:1-8). Praise His Holy Name!
