What about dinosaurs? Christians believe there were dinosaurs. Some believe dinosaurs were walking around with humans.
Yes I think there is a brainwashing aspect going on. It's cult-like. Even the more mild churches are cult-like and the fundie ones- well don't even get me started.
It's very subtle so most people miss it.
Yes it's money for some churches, but I believe it's power more than anything else.
They want to control the people who go to their church. How you live, what you watch on TV, what music you listen to, what movies you see, what you do for hobbies and recreation.
And they all have their standards that they want to impose on everyone else. And THEY can't even agree on those standards! ROTFL!!! They even look down on eachother because someone is not "Christian enough".
You can have your faith and stay away from the culty churches who only want your money, and to control you.

Some churches probably only want you for your money but I believe that most churches have your best intentions at heart. And I don't think most are brainwashing people.
The dinosaurs is an entirely different subject matter. Most Christians will accept that dinosaurs existed. That doesn't actually contradict anything in the bible.

Just my opinion:
1) yes and no.... my church doesn't ask for money, they don't even pass a basket...there are offering boxes at the exit if people want to give, but they don't ask
2) if they can't back up what they're saying with the Bible, then, yes, they are brainwashing you.... you certainly have to check out if what they say is true
3)dinosaurs are in the Bible.... most Christians believe that dinosaurs existed.....

No mine is not. I know this because I don't have enough money for that to be a reason for them wanting me there. No I do not think my church is brainwashing me either. I believe I am being taught what GOD wants me to learn. If you are part of a church that is making you feel this way maybe you should look for another... A church should feel like family to you. They should help each other out as family would do. It takes EVERY part of the BODY for a body to function well.

Did you know Robert T. Bakker is the paleontologist who was a figure in the "dinosaur Renaissance" and known for the theory some dinosaurs were Warm-blooded. He is also a Pentecostal preacher who advocates theistic evolution and has written on religion.
Did you know that you don't have to give any money to most churches?

Unfortunately, some may have money as their motive.
A true one does not.
A good and thorough study of the doctrine of stewardship will clear up much. If a church's practice does not line up with the biblical doctrine, their practices should and must be changed.
As far as the brainwashing, in order to know for real, study theology. Not science, but theology.

No, churches don't want money. They want to save people like you. God wants you to tithe and make an offering to the church, but that goes to serve Him. They are not brainwashing anyone. Atheists are brainwashing everyone and are using that as an excuse not to go to church. It's a little too late to be talking about dinosaurs. But they are in scripture.

No. Churches are a refuge from the cruelty of the world.
The only problem is, people are too lazy to join their local church. Instead they just watch those guys on t.v. that are intent on sucking cash out of your bank accounts.
As far as dinosaurs are concerned, they might have been ahead of the game if they had belonged to a church.

Personally, I've never been to any place of worship where they forced me to donate money. You shouldn't have to have money to be considered a believer. That's up to personal discretion. And as for the dinosaurs: Hell yeah! Why is it so hard to admit that there were giant animals around before us?! I mean...they ARE there!
