Yup, it's allowed. Catholics are in fact basically Christians, it's just that some other versions of Christianity don't agree with the Catholic version - look at Northern Ireland for an example. However the Roman Catholic person would need to apply for permission (a Dispensation to Marry) to marry a person of another church type, or even a non-Christian.

Sure. A Catholic IS a Christian, they just expect that to be married, their spouse will first become Catholic.
They do not think (apparently) that a Protestant is a Christian.

I think you're confusing Catholic priests with Catholics in general and you're separating Catholics from Christian altogether.

My father was Catholic, my mom was Southern Baptist. Both families were not pleased with the marriage...dad's family because they couldn't be married in the church (because mom wouldn't convert) so it wasn't a "real marriage" (grandma said this)...mom's family because my dad wasn't a "real Christian". They found a faith and a religion that worked for both of them and were married 35 years until my mom passed away.

There could be conflicts. But none of the denominations have it all correct. The thing to focus on is your walk with Jesus as individuals and together. We must keep an intimate and close relationship with Jesus and let Him be Lord over our lives, allowing Him to show us truth as we walk with Him and ask Him for guidance.

No way! Just because of your lover's background religion is different don't mean you can't belong together forever. I don't even believe in marriage, forget that bull, I say its between you and your lover.
