I had a car that was repo'd. They sold the car and I was left with a 11k balance...

eventually the finance company charged off the debt and sold it to a collection agency. This is how it appears on my credit report. Now shouldn't the collection agency be reporting the balance on my credit report? It says balance due NA... am I off the hook or no?

You're still on the hook for the debt the you took on. Just because you don't have the car doesn't let you off.

The collection agency does not have to report to the debt. There are multiple credit agencies, so its possible that if you pulled a credit report, they they did not report to the agency you pulled but reported to another agency.

No you are not off the hook. The collection agency can sue you, win a judgment, then attach your bank account, garnish your wages, and lien your property. They can also decide to report the collection status anytime on your credit report -- as long as it isn't over 7 years from the default.
