ok, I'll confess. I read a question asking about the Islamic faith allowing husbands to beat wives.. the question came to me about if there were a religion where wives were exhorted to beat their husbands.

I answered a question once from this guy that posted about men that get raped by women. Well, he didn't like my answer and e-mailed me that it was true because he counsels these abused men. It is not in a religion to beat the men or husbands; its behind closed doors. If only the walls could talk.

All joking aside, I read last night about the woman charged with adultery after being raped by 6 men. I could not believe it! Punish the victim? Something is drastically wrong with that justice system.

Woo hoo! We live in a patriarchal society. Faiths with female deities and those that empowered women were wiped out during the dark ages.

Interesting....there can be and actually religion where wives beat their husbands or boyfriends....isn't that what a dominatrix does?
Or there is the "loving beating" that goes on behind close doors....:-)

I thought that this was coming from Muslim's belief that it is OK to beat your wife.
I am not sure if there is any religion, but I bet there are some life styles like that.

Not that I know of.
Regarding the two major religions - Christianity and Islam, then no. These two are strongly patriarchal and misogynistic. They were created by men, for men.

There should be neither....
Husbands must not/should not beat their wives...
and wives should not beat their husbands.
Both should love one another..
violence has never solved a thing.
