When you get your marriage license or cerificate does it mean your only married for 90 days? in California it says its valid for 90 days, does that mean I have to get remarried? I really dont understand this!

I'll clear this up for you since I work at a Courthouse. What it means by it's valid for 90 days means that you have 90 days from when you get it to get married. Say your wedding is sometime in January that means you have 90 days before your wedding to get the license. You MUST have a license before you get married and when you do get married the priest or preacher will sign it that they did the marriage ceremony and then you MUST turn it into the Courthouse. I hope this clears up your confusion.

It mean the certificate is only valid for 90 days. If you don't get married in that 90 day window then you have to reapply for another license.

I'm from Australia, so it may be a little different over here, but i would presume, that a marriage certificate is only valid for a certain amount of days because you have to submit to the births, deaths and marriages office. So i would say that You have 90 days in which to notify the marriages office, otherwise you will have to get another certiciate.

That just means you have to be married within 90 days. If you wait after then then you will have to apply for another one. You could think of it like a coupon once it is expired it is no good and you just have to get another one! But once you are married within the 90 days you are married forever!

its only gives you 90 days to get married. After that you need to get a new one in order to be married . Pretty much you can't get one any earllier then three months before the big day.
