It sounds like a possible abscess--an infection. If so, it will need to be lanced and flushed under sedation, and antibiotics administered. Call your vet in the morning for an appointment and have it checked out.

Does she go outdoors? It may be a fight wound. Have her checked out by a vet. My grandmother's cat developed a lump like that. It was biopsied and found to be cancerous. She had it removed, but it came back worse than before and she had to put him to sleep. Please have it looked at.

it is likely an abscess. she needs to see the vet. my cat had a small lump which was cancer (it didn't hurt). these can often be removed but often come back.

Bring her to the vet! It could be seriuos or even fatal. Maybe even an absess or a tumor. I hope not, just get her some medical help fast!!
