i have a visa credit card i just got it in november. It had a limit of 300 dollars on it i spend about $240 on it and im wondering when will my credit line go up? Does it go up after 6 months or does it go up after i charge on it? i need this answer quickly please

Might as well get ready for those over the limit fees if you do not pay it down soon. I suspect your annual fee will hit at the first billing and put you right over the top. Very poor use of credit.

IF you use the card and pay it off in full and on time every month, you might get an increase in 6 months. But if you have already ran that card up so close to your limit, it is very likely you will be overlimit when that first statement arrives. You should make at least a $100 payment as soon as that statement arrives.

Although the posters on this board are offering great advice (pay down debt, save your money), the most direct answer to your question would come from your credit card issuer - and most likely they can answer instantaneously. Their toll free number is on the back of the card (usually, if not it's on your statement) - you can call and ask their criteria for limit increase.

They usually check this account every 3 to 6 months, but they are not going to increase your limit, unless the balance is at least down to only a third of your limit (displays a responsible user), or you are paing huge amounts on it every month (says you have a large discretionary amount of cash laying around).
