A heart attack does not feel like burning. Chances are it's severe heartburn. He should see a doctor about it and he should also avoid certain foods in the future (spicy stuff especially). Losing a little weight couldn't hurt. Let him know this is a warning sign. Serious stuff like ulcers, diabetes, and muscle atrophy can follow.

Sounds like indigestion (gas). Take some Pepto Bismol and wait an hour. If he does not have any relief, go to emergency. Ask what he has eaten lately. A heart attack does not start with pain in the abdomen.....it's the arm (left I think). You can also call the emergency and explain situation. Most of them will give you some 'diagnosis' or tell you to get there quick. I pray he will be okay (suggest weight loss and proper diet and health to him)

This is merely a guess based on the info you provided ... if the pains are sharp and in his stomach, it could be his gall bladder. If it is, he could have gall stones or need it removed altogether. An ulcer (bleeding ulcer?) could be another viable answer.

But without knowing all of the symptoms he's experiencing, he should see a doctor since it sounds like the pain is severe. If you feel uncomfortable going to the hospital/ER, you might try to locate a medical aid unit in your area. The ones in my area take patients 24/7 and will refer you to a hospital if it is a true emergency. They are great since they are the place to go when you can't get in to see your doctor and don't think you need to go to the ER. Plus, if it is an emergency, you tend to get faster service than in a hospital.

I hope this helps to some degree & good luck!

If he gets pains in his arms or chest I would be worried it could be a heart attack, but in his stomach probably indicates constipation.

If its near his apendix (right of his belly button and down a few inches) it would not be a good idea to take any laxitives as this irratates appendicitis. if it last longer than a few days you shoud go to your doctor. It could also be gallstones, IBS, or many other thing. Not a heart attack

Heart burn can be one of the signs of a heart attack. Is he having pain in his left arm at all? Shortness of breath? I think it would be wise to at least call an E.R. & talk to them.
If he is having a heart attack you are wasting very valuable time asking a question on here, even if it is only the early signs.

If he's had tomato in the past few hours, it might be a reaction from that. Make a tea with basil (the herb) and have him sip it.

You can do this after you go to the emergency room.

Basil neutralizes tomato. I have to have it after I eat anything with more tomato than ketchup.

It also helps if you eat lots of fat off that yummy roast. Better to not eat the fat at all if he's having tummy problems, though.

With bad pain he should see a doctor. The problem could be an ulcer, acid stomach, or muscle strain. Not likely a heart attack.

it sounds like heartburn and indigestion

he should drink some cool water and take maalox. if the pain continues after a while, then take him to the hospital.

tell your dad he needs to watch what he eats. it sounds like he's accumulating way too much stomach acid and that's bad!

Nope, it is acid, or an ulcer!
A heart attack, and you get a numbness or pins and needles in your left arm.
Also a feeling of impending doom.
It is very rare to get a pain where your heart is.
