It's called "Lying for Jesus" and it's done all the time. Ask any televangelist or proponent of Intelligent Design.

A true Christian would never use deceit for any reason. There are some people that slip at times and they need to be reminded of their faith and asked to repent. No one is perfect, we all slip at times but we do have to turn to God and ask forgiveness in Jesus' name. I think I didnt put it quite right. I shouldn't have said a true Christian-------as I said we all sin every day and need forgiveness.

It is kind of hard to deceive someone about a religion given the fact that pretty much everyone has access to the internet and can research any religion for themselves.

What is the purpose? Lying about the beliefs makes no sense, just to get them to join, because once they join they will realize that it wasnt true.

In the beginning of teh Catholic Church , half the leaders though Jesus was "god " and have thought he was a prophet . St. Paul said they wouldn't gete enough followers unless all said he was God . So the history of Christianity is based on deception . Also for many years the Catholic Church tried to keep the sciences such as astronomy and mathematics out of the hands of the general population because the church feared this knowledge would distort or weaken the religion .

I completely believe there is -one- religion out there that evangelizes and does not tell the whole truth of its religion to the person studying..

I think it's done so that by the time they find out the truth of what they're being asked to give up and to do, there is no way they'd leave.

so if you mean lie by omission, yes, i believe that.

There is no deceit in Christianity. It is the truth of God.

No, religion is not important. All f them require deeds for salvation. Christianity is so great because it offers us solution to our sin problem and salvation and the deed has already been done. You need to accept it and let God know about your decision. Or you can reject His offer. Free will.

No, considering deciet contradicts truth, which is the basis of Christianity. That would be illogical.

Christianity is based on fear of an imaginary place.

It is already rooted in deceit.

Missionaries go to Tibet and tell those people that you better believe what I tell you to believe and you better pray what I tell you to pray or you are going to hell. All of that is lies.
