An extended warranty also would not pay for repairs on something that was broken at the time the policy was applied for. Just think about it. Can you buy insurance on your house after the fire has started? Can you buy health insurance to pay for your surgery after you are checked into the hospital?

Your insurance policy is NOT a "maintenance" policy and only covers incidents that are sudden and accidental.

Typically, you would have to have some amount of warranty left on your vehicles manufacturer's warranty in order to be able to EXTEND it. If yours has NOE, I doubt if you will be able to find a company that will cover it.

So, sounds like you either need to FIX it and pay for the repairs or JUNK it and buy something different.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

no insurance is just for damage or theft to your vehicle and dont typically cover mechanical problems from ware and tare, unless proven to be wreck related which I have seen damaged caused to motors, transmissions etc from accidents. However, Insurance fraud is against the law, if you try to file a claim that is not insurance related your insurance company could cancel you because of fraud. Best rule of thumb is to do routine maintance to your car make sure you use a reputible mechanic or someone you trust. If you still have a loan on your vehicle, you can contact your dealer to purchase a extended warranty, but it usually is expensive and is limited to what it covers.

No, that is not the point of an automotive insurance policy. If you want a policy to cover repairs, you should have purchased an extended warranty.

Insurance only covers damage from an accident. I don't believe you can get any kind of extended warranty policy or coverage that is retroactive.

No
Extended warranty is waste of money for most cars. Some only cover engine and transmission.

Your policy doesn't cover mechanical breakdown, so putting in a fraudulent claim isn't going to help.
