I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic schools. My husband was raised Baptist and went to private schools as well. Now that we have children, we have the families arguing over what religion our children should be. You know, I teach my children about Jesus, God, Mary, etc. I teach them to try and do the right thing, not to judge someone because they look a different way or don't have as much as they do. I teach them to believe and to pray, not for what they want, but to thank God for what they have been given, good or bad (in their eyes) and thank Him for the lessons that they have learned along the way. So, I guess that we have no religion, just kind-of merged the two. But, God never said that you have to have a religion, He said that you have to believe and serve Him, and that is what I teach my children to do. I believe that there are a lot of religions out there that judge and talk bad about other religions and I just don't believe that is what God intended on in his place of worship! I'm a believer, not a religion!!!

Like all the other answerers here, I believe that it is very important that I experience pleasure and it is equally important that I don't experience pain. I carry these beliefs around with me all day. Even when I am dreaming I am looking to experience pleasure and avoid pain.
Given the choice between:
a) myself experiencing pleasure and
b) 2 strangers receiving pleasure,
I will always choose a) myself.
Nobody taught me that my experiences are more important than other people's, however I have always had the belief that they are.
Sometimes this belief get's me into a lot of trouble e.g. the other day I got caught stealing because I wanted to spend money on myself.
In some ways I can say my object of worship is myself and my religion is meism.

Same here. I am Christian and believe in God. I never liked terms like "Xmas". I know people just want to abbreviate the word, but it seems so ridiculous. How much more work is it to write out Christmas? It reminds me of the statement "holiday party", which should read Christmas Party.
