Both are great engines...I had a 3.5 2005 w/5 speed stick on a lease...great car and super fast(I like speed)...should have kept it...would up turning it in when it was due in April and replaced it with 2.5 2007 w/automatic...surprisingly fast...not as fast as the 3.5 but expremely peppy for onl;y 2.5L..on the road, this car got 34mpg....the 3.5L wasn't bad on the road either if you take it easy...about 29mpg

Do you use it for just a car? 175 hp 2.5 engine will do. Do you expect good power to merge onto freeways luxury smoothness and extra features go for the 265 hp V-6 3.5 liter engine. Try to also get the five speed automatic transmission option too. Six speed manual is very rare. While the 2.5 is good enough to delever 30 miles a gallon you really don't pay that big of a penalty when using a 3.5 liter V-6 with the 5 speed automatic I have some customers state they get 28 mpg.

I recommend the 3.5, it's faster.
