I am in 7th grade and I have strong feelings for a 22 year old!?
I don't get butterflies anymore. I am past that.
Now I am to the point where everytime I think about him I usually close my eyes and sigh in relief that I get to see him soon.
My hands shake a little,
And my legs sometimes get weak??
Are these feelings strong for my age? or not? Thanx!

they are strong but it is odd that you have them for a 22 yr old

You cannot and I repeat, CANNOT start up with a 22 year old. This is illegal for him, and if you do truly care about him, you won't put him into a position that can get him locked up in jail and on a national list of pedophiles. Look for people your own age who can make you feel the same way. 13 is a tough age, but you must stay strong. Some mistakes that you make at that age will follow you the rest of your life. Chalk it up to a crush, and leave it at that. The 2 of you cannot have a relationship.

You are 13 and just by reading this you resemble me as a child :) i'm a teenager right now and have been through many crushes over the years. i will tell you this there are many guys you will meet over the years that will do the same thing that this man does. yes, i will agree with some people here and say he is beyond you age range. I promise you when you are a bit older there will be a guy that will be around your age and love you just as much as you love him<3 i promise you that becuz i found my bf and i am the happiest girl ever and i'm in highschool and he is just a year older than me :) stay calm and wait a bit and you will find a much better guy <3

Yes, you may think you have feelings for this MAN, but as a child of 13, you need to slowly detach yourself from the fantasy of dating or marrying him. While the idea may seem exciting and safe, you are unaware of the danger at hand. Most adult/children relationships are based on sex and abuse. If you slept with a 22 year old man, he would be arrested and taken to jail for lude act upon a child or rape. Even if you and this man do not have sexual intercourse, he still will be penalized under the law for dating a child under 18. Think about that.

Sounds pretty normal for a teenager. but remember if you like this guy and he has a relationship with you he can go to prison for a very long time. Wait 5 years and do what you want but below 18 and I think some states 17.
Below that it is statuary rape and he will be in jail at least that long. He will be almost 30 by the time he gets out of jail.

this is a crush and let me tell you....
it wont work.
1. its illegal
2. your 13.. ther'l be other guys. though it may not seem like it now, he's not the only one for you. he's 22. thats a 9 year difference... when your 20 he'll be almost 30 when your 30 hell be almost 40.
time will bring you someone closer to your age but trust me, liking someone who is so much older than you is not a good idea and will only lead to heartbreak.
as for th strong feelings.
sorry this is normal.
you get it when you 10, 13, 16, 20, 30, it doesnt matter.
everyone feels like that.

ya thats typical behavior, and you'll probably get over it. hopefully he has no feelings for you though; that would be quite perverted.
a general rule to see how young a person you can go out with is to take half your age plus 7. so it would be acceptable for a 22 year old to like an 11+7= 18 year old at the youngest.

I dont know you, but when I was 12, I fell in love with one handsome guy age 19. That was pure love and I used to write poems and verses(my hands and legs were shaking as well the moment I saw him:))... Then it finished, actually it didnt have a start, but I still consider that love the most beautiful I ever had.
May be you'll forget it later...But now - take it and love him as much as you can.

all thirteen year olds have strong feelings. there is no small in dealing with the young. that is both your glory and your pain. im glad im past that. for you cant have highs without the lows. i hope he realizes that its a 13 year old feeling and comforts you so the pain is not so great. and i pray he doesnt take advantage of your ignorance to the reality of where you are emotionaly. in other words i hope he doesnt give you the same feeling back . but rather a friendly support until such time as you learn your feelings better. having those feelings is great, at least your not gay.lol but please trust me- dont pursue anything romantic.take care . andstudy! you got a life to work toward

Not really, most kids that age can get those feelings too. It's not exactly "butterflies", but it's pretty much exactly like it.
Also a 22 year old? I am the first to admit I'm dating a man 5 years older than I am, but 9 years is...far too much for somebody your age.

First of all that is illegal. You need to find someone that is closer to your age. Those aren't strong feelings though. But you need to write why you like this person. And make sure you like the person for the right reason, before getting anymore serious.
