Since global warming is natural and not caused by any US policies, none need to be changed. You may want to read up on the subject. There's actually no proof of any kind found to blame humans for global warming.
(some idiot actually said taxes should be increased on gasoline. Must be a politician. Maybe it's Al-gore.)

None. We can not significantly change the climate on a planetary scale. Policy change will just create a bigger government and more restrictions on our lives. Cleaner sources of energy and equipment that utilize it will be developed by good old capitalist companies that are competing for your business, just like it always has. You will decide which is the best for your purposes.

Support/require nuclear plants for base-plant electric production. Recycle of the fuel after removal from the reactor will reduce its "dangerous" aspect from 240,000 years to 500 years. After 50 years, the radiation content should be equal to or less than the radiation content from the clinkers from a coal burner of the same power output.
