True schizophrenia has elements of psychosis.. delusions or hallucinations.

Schizo-affective is more like an annoying and non-functioning person. They are usually extremely isolated (only have immediate family as friends) and socially awkward to the point of not being able to handle a job, but they can be lucid and smart. The schizo-affective is not completely in touch with reality because he might have grandiose thinking, but he doesn't suffer actual delusions.

Schizo-affective is classified as a mood disorder and schizophrenia is classified as a thought disorder.

Hmm..true schizophrenia is hard to describe, right? My understanding is schizoaffective is a mixture of symptoms usually known as schizophrenia and characteristics of bipolar disorder.

schizo-affective isn't full-on schizophrenia, it's a mild version. mixed with mild mania. from what I remember.
