The Noah's Arc is a fable which derives meaning and is inspired from the ancient Egyptian word "archanoa" which describes the moon's appearance as an arc in the sky.
The part in the story that's the flood is, of course, inspired by the Nile's seasonal floods, which have the symbolism of washing away the old and starting anew.

The story of Noah's Ark does seem to have some basis in truth. Many early civilizations have similar stories, the most famous being in the Sumerian epic Gilgamesh. Some scientists think that there was a disastrous flood in the Black Sea region and it did so much damage that people based a lot of stories on it. The Biblical story, like many scriptural stories, can be understood as a way of presenting mankind's understanding that God can bring us through disasters.
You don't need to take such stories literally; you look for the message conveyed--it is a bit like poetry, with the truth expressed in vivid terms.

The Ark was constructed of wood and said to be anywhere from 500 to 800 feet in lengthh. I always thought that incredible. But great ships were discovered in Italy built of wood by Emperor Caligula. My discrediting of that vanished. The physical proof gives me no doubt as to at least the possibility. And it also appears the Ark was simply a rectangular barge So it would have been relatibely easy to construst versus curved bream. Powered? Nope! No power. It just floated. No sails. not even a reference to a rudder. I can argue the Flood was more regional rather than global. And other than the Bible and a few ancient manuscripts cannot really prove with physical evidence but it is scientifically and technologically possible. I sure wouldn't discount it as fable. Maybe a bit exaggerated on dimensions, but not unreasonably.

1. Noah and his sons
2. No power-they weren't going anywhere
3. We really don't know. The Bible records 300x50x30 cubits. If that cubit was 18" (Hebrew-distance from elbow to fingertip), then the ark would have been 450x75x45 feet. If that was the measurements, then it would have been sufficient to do the job.The problem is we have no record of a pre-flood cubit. It may have been much larger.

What is so hard to believe about the arc; haven't you seen photos of the Titanic? Haven't you seen skyscrapers on post cards? Haven't you seen planes flying through the air? The arc, built by Noah is no fable.

Yes I do. Science is not God so trying to think about the possibility of Noah building an Ark from scientific thought is impossible. I know he did just as Jesus turned water into wine and Moses parted the sea.

It was a floating barge, it had no power. Yes I believe there was a vessel built, . Noah had no nautical knowledge but anyone who knows carpentry can build a barge.
