To them (like to Australians) we live upside down here in the Northern Hemisphere. We humans all live on a sphere like the globes you see in school. Down is anywhere on the surface of the globe that points to the center of it and up is all areas in space outside the globe. This is due to the gravitational attraction of the spherical earth for any thing on or near its surface.
