Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians.
The mark of a true religion is whether what is taught can be backed up by the Bible.
I too was brought up a Catholic. But when I grew up I recognised all the hypocrisy. The Catholic religion is full of pagan beliefs which do not originate with God nor can they be found in God's Word, the Bible.
You need to follow your heart. To be one of Jehovah's Witnesses is not a popular thing.Jesus said his followers would be hated just like he was.So dont expect your family and friends to support you. It took my mother a long time to accept my new faith. She saw how it had made me a better person and for that she was glad.
You need to pray to Jehovah God for guidance and strength and he will help you.
Act in harmony with your prayers.Seek out your Aunt and ask her to help you. Jehovah God will bless your efforts

FIrst, you should take up a religion only for determining it is true, not for loneliness. Acts 17:11, 1 Thess. 5:21.

Secondly, before you become one of Jehovah's Witnesses, you must study to make sure it is true.

The Bible does indeed teach Jehovah is ALONE in being most high over all the earth. And that his son, Jesus, though his Son, is still a subject. Psalm 83:18, 1 Corinthians 15:24-28.

We know Jesus rose from the dead. Jehovah gave him immortality and incorruptability and made him high priest placing him back at his right hand in heaven.
Hebrews 1st chapter, Hebrews 5:8, 9, 1 Timothy 6:16, 1 Cor. 15:45...he became a lifegiving spirit up in heaven.

Works cannot save you it is by undeserved kindness (grace in some Bibles)....Ephesians 2:8, 9, Acts 4:12, Matt. 20:28.

You will only hear stupidity on here though.

If you would like to have a Bible study and be able to ask all your questions safely and from a neutral non-family member, feel free to email me or add me to your yahoo IM.

I've been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 20 years, have a degree from a Baptist seminary, was raised by my Methodist preacher dad until he left that faith when I was 15.

I attended Assembly of God for awhile, worked in the Presbyterian church and dated a preacher of theirs plus ran all the denominational religious programs at a local radio station and I've written to people all over the earth of most religions.

My dad has an 80,000 plus library heavily on theological references and Bibles. He believes most of what we teach. His library falls to me at his passing.

He hates religion now as he knows it is mostly pagan mythology. You can view his website. He was a college professor until his retirement. He has 12-13 degrees including several doctorates, etc.

Best regards,
Debbie

Don't fear. We all worry Jehovah's Witnesses. Don't concentrate to them. Ask your self: People residing in one more nation that experience grown up with out figuring out approximately this faith are going to hell due to the fact they ... have no idea this faith exists? You might comply with a institution of men and women that feel it is k to sentence different men and women to hell due to the fact they do not think what Jehovahs Witnesses think? I have no idea approximately you however that sounds very Evil. Personally, I hate equipped faith. I grew up in a southern Christian household and feature hated church ever seeing that I used to be a child. The fakeness and hypocrisy of the men and women simply creeped me out. Then it particularly hit me one Sunday. I quite simply could not be given that as I sat within the pews, men and women round me have been amen-ing to the preacher's speech on how Harry Potter used to be evil due to the fact the descriptive use of witchcraft. Nevermind the truth that a million) it is a tale, two) a tale approximately a child with potent items and potential and three) and Most Importantly - a child that makes use of his potent items and for the betterment of mankind. How is that evil? Seriously? Anyway, Let the Witness factor roll off you prefer water off a duck's again & be powerful.

There's nothing wrong with learning more, but try and learn it from many sources, don't simply count on your aunt to tell the truth about her faith (not that she might lie, but she might have been lied to). Witnesses, for example, consider the government to be an instrument of Satan. The Feds aren't perfect but they're not satanic or actively malicious.

Also, look out for peer pressure. It what ways in their pressuring you to convert similar to and different than being pressured to smoke cocaine or meth? Shouldn't they accept for who you are, and would they reject you if you refuse to convert, and would that behavior be moral? Can you be a good person and not be a Witness? Can you agree to disagree, if it comes to that?

Finally, don't submit to a wispy attitude about your personal beliefs. Belief, religious or otherwise, is personal and shouldn't be changed merely to maintain or reinforce a friendship. What if you befriend someone who is neither a Witness nor a Catholic and won't accept you unless you convert to his religion?

I think the question you should ask yourself is, whether the loneliness you are feeling is because of the influence of your Aunt.
Adopting a religion means adopting a new way of life.
Your family might not support you, and you might loose friends etc. Obviously, you are already aware of the fact, that some people are not too keen about the Witnesses.
That is the real test of your faith, though.
There are many different ways to come closer to G-d.
I suggest you try going to services at the Kingdom Halls, as well as some churches. Also, think about how you want to raise your kids, and if it would be crucial for you to marry a spouse that has your religion.

You are afraid of falling back and being seen as a hypocrite? Nobody successfully worships the true God in their own strength. Nobody successfully worships the true God without His help.

Read Philippians 4:13. And remember, Peter faltered right in Christ's face. And got his step back. And became a strong advocate for Christianity. And was faithful until death. You can do the same.

By the way, you cannot be between Christianity and Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians, despite what you may read here from detractors.

I want to commend you for knowing their is a difference between Christianity and JW's, because they are different. Pray and ask God to protect and help you understand the truth. The JW's do not believe God although they use the same words and say they believe in God. They actually make God a liar because they do not believe the bible as it is so they created their own bible to fit their doctrines and beliefs. You will not get to heaven following them because only a limited number of them are going. You have to gain salvation and if you get sick and need a blood transfusion you will have to die because it is against their beliefs. They are a very controlling organization and you have to go out door to door as part of gaining or working for your salvation. They do not believe Jesus is God and they have made many false prophecies in the past that cost many people their livelihood. You can find out about them and their beliefs online at watchtower.org. They call themselves Christians but they are counterfeits. The bible says test the spirits to see if they are from God. The JW's are led by the spirit of error straight from the devil himself. The people may be very nice and sincere but they are decieved, blind leading the blind. I assume you know about Catholicism, another works religion, but at least they know who Jesus is. Do not ignore that fear because the Lord will help you and guide you to truth if you listen to Him and read His Word. Compare their bible with any other bible and you will see how they changed the scriptures. Start with the Gospel of John.
Take care and don't rush into anything and don't let them scare you into anything.

You say that your scared. As well you should be.

Look in the christian book store for literature on cults. You will find that jw's are a cult.

Go to the library and look up cults.jw's are there.

Look online for cults- jw's are there too.

Now when I say they are a cult, it is because they DO NOT believe in the same God as Christianity.

Jehovah is One God in three persons.
God the father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

For one thing, they do not believe that Jesus Christ is Himself God, but that He was created.

Jesus Christ, Gods' Son, is Himself God. He has forever existed and forever will.

Jw's will try to sway you by using Gods' word out of context. They know Gods' word inside and out. They have an expanded head knowledge of Gods' word but that knowledge hasn't traveled 18 inches down to their hearts. They have not been made alive by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said that you must be born again. That is born of the Spirit not just remaining born of the flesh.

Remember, there is one in this world that wants nothing more than to decieve people from the truth. He is the deciever, the liar and the temptor. The devil.

Jesus said, " I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but by Me".

Pray and ask God to guide you

Jehovah Witnesses do not believe Jesus was resurrected from the dead nor do they believe in Hell.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe:

* God's name is Jehovah.
* Only Jehovah existed from "everlasting to everlasting.
* Jesus is not one with God.
* The Holy Spirit it not part of a triune God, He is simply the "force" of God.
* God was once alone in the universe.
* Satan originated the doctrine of the trinity.

Jehovah’s Witnesses reject the Trinity, believing Jesus to be a created being and the Holy Spirit to essentially be the power of God. Jehovah’s Witnesses hold to a ransom theory of the atonement, in which Jesus' death paid only for what mankind lost when Adam sinned - namely, the right to perfect life on earth. Thus, they believe in a faith + works arrangement, where sin and death are freely atoned for by Christ, but physical perfection is attained through personal effort, coupled with faith in Christ.

How do the Jehovah’s Witnesses justify these unbiblical doctrines? (1) They claim that the church has, over the centuries, corrupted the Bible, and (2) They have re-translated the Bible in what they call the New World Translation. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society altered the text of the Bible to make it fit their false doctrine – rather than basing their doctrine on what the Bible teaches. The New World Translation has gone through numerous editions, as the Jehovah’s Witnesses discover more and more Scriptures that contradict their doctrines.

It is okay to be curious but I'd ask lots of questions and do lots of research beforehand. Changing religions shouldn't be considered in the same way you change your socks.

well friend......let me be the one to tell you that Jehovah's witnesses are in error according to the scriptures....What you really NEED is to be Born Again you need Jesus,He is the only way to Our Father..Joh 14:6 Jesus said......., I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.He also said that ..... Take it from me: Unless a person is born from above, it's not possible to see what I'm pointing to--to God's kingdom." Jesus said, "You're not listening. Let me say it again. Unless a person submits to this original creation--the 'wind hovering over the water' creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life--it's not possible to enter God's kingdom. John 3:3-5. Because you are fairly new at seeking The Lord you are a target for people to come along and lead you in the wrong direction invite Jesus into your heart and ask Him to forgive you of all your trespasses and to show you the way and He WILL because HE loves you and has an awesome plan for your life......
