I really don't think I need 80 GB, I also want to know if the 40 GB has Wi-Fi. And by the way, what are the USB ports on the PS3 there for anyways?

I'm not planning on putting photos and any other media than games on the PS3, solely for gaming purposes.

I also sold all of my PS and PS2 games so I won't be playing any of those on it.

Yes, the 40GB PS3 has built in WiFi. All of the PS3's have built in WiFi except for the 20GB PS3.

The USB ports can be used on the PS3 to transfer pictures, photos, music and other forms of media onto the PS3. Also the USB ports are used to charge the PS3's controllers, it can be used to hook up to a printer and print photos, and connect a USB keyboard/mouse. A wireless keyboard/mouse can be used with the PS3 also.Basically, the USB ports on the PS3 serve the same purpose as USB ports on a computer.

The 80GB PS3 is better than the 40GB PS3 because it can play both PS1 and PS2 games. The 40GB PS3 cannot play PS2 games, but it can play PS1 games. Also, the 40GB PS3 does not have the digital camera flash card slots.

the 80gb ps3 is larger, by using fact the 40gb one is particularly a stripped down one by using fact they do no longer help any ps2 video games, great audio cd, and lacking the interior flash card reader. on an identical time as the 80gb ps3 have great audio cd help, indoors flash card flasher, and can play 80% of ps2 video games, by using fact they are employing utility emulation, meaning some video games might have corruption problem or gadget defects.
