haha Now we're getting somewhere. Of course it is possible. Given god's track record and hearsay alone on Satan, I would even say it's probable.

The answer is found in many Scriptures but the best may be in a few paragraphs called the 13th Chapter of I Corinthians.

In part it says: .."Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up. Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth. Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Charity never fails........"

There are only two spirits in the world. Once you have met both there is little problem in tracking them across time and within yourself. One seeks ownership and power through the human imagination; the other dwells in a heart filled with natural affection in this temple not made with hands.

One spirit offers light for understanding, seeks worship and offers things leading to bondage; the other lights up the inner man with love. The light of the world is Jesus.

Satan can claim to represent the name of Jesus and even claim, through religion, to be the Christ. Yet, being a religious spirit, Satan will waltz all around it; but never bow to the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the nearing time when men call evil good and good is being called evil, where even law is perverted to insanity, it is quite possible to be deceived. Each person must literally know and speak with God. In so doing they must compare themselves to Scripture; considering in humility what type of life they are producing?

If you are interested in maintaining kingdoms in this world, be they religious, political, scientific, economic, etc., you no doubt have a handle on the wrong spirit at this moment.

Satan is a spirit of light and knowledge. My God is a refining fire and not many want to stay in that kitchen. They love questions and would rather go to school; forever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.

I'm an atheist, but I think there's a flaw in your question. If the story of God and the devil is true, then the significant thing is to believe that there is a God who is good and a devil who is not. So believing in God cannot - as a matter of simple logic - be the accidental belief in the devil.

Now, it may be possible that Christianity is a false belief and that the Muslims or Jews are correct - or it may be possible that Christianity is correct but only one of the several hundred sub-sects. In any of these cases, the devout are fooling themselves and following a false belief, but there is really no way that they could be following Satan by accident.

And using their own belief as a template, it is possible that if they are folowing the wrong version of the true religion that they were led to that false version by Satan.

Of course, I'm only playing "devil's advocate" here. I don't believe in God or the devil or any of it.

How do you know for a fact that your God isn't a evil spirit trying to turn you from the one true God?
Revelation of Scripture, the Bible, is confirmed by prophecy and history/archeology.

Maybe you are the ones being deceived. Satan is to come as a spirit of light, maybe he is your light and not the true God? have you ever thought of that?
Yes, I have. And Satan is indeed deceiving many as we write in this present. Yet, the Scriptures, the Word of God, the Word, will not return void after its preaching. Comparison of Scripture to your understanding of God will reveal whether you are serving the true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob or any false deity created by the mind of man or Satan himself.

Satan may and does disguise himself as an angel of light, and that falls very very short from disguising himself as Emmanuel, Elohim, Adonai, the Prince of Peace. How can a created thing be even equal to that which or who created that thing? How can something contained by the universe ever hope to make something that is supra-universal, existing outside of and independent of the properties of that universe?

Yes, we create specialty devices like computers which perform specific tasks at rates we can not match. But who has attempted to artificially create a biomass from basic elements that is truly superhuman? Yet Scripture does predict a similar attempt when the image of the Beast is brought to life.

I'm confused at your questions. Either you've spent too much time reading Hitchens book or watched the Devil's Advocate to such a degree that Al Pacino's character started making sense. I know why people are atheists. They have their own reasons or reasoning as to why GOD doesn't exist. Yet, I do believe in GOD and I am not deceived. Can He be evil? I don't know. Can He be good? I don't know either. Neither can anyone really. I do know there is faith, hope, and charity and without those we are all doomed.

Christianity has a rich history which started with the Jews at the beginning of time. The bible is filled with historical facts that Archaeologists use and has been proven very reliable. We have over 5000 documented ancient findings of scripture, many in different languages, all the same. WE have the dead sea scrolls to prove this also. The Vatican just bought 2 gospels dating 90 ad, the same as we have today. There is prophesies that has come to pass from the bible that proves it's reliability. Over 300 just for the man Jesus.

We have non christian evidence of Jesus from Tacitus and Josephus both historians. And a Governor named Pliny the Younger who all wrote about "Christos" and his followers the Christan's.

Archaeologists have found the tomb of Caiaphas who was the Pharisee that brought Jesus to trial.
Jesus WAS a real person who was an historical figure. Even well read Atheists KNOW this.

We have eye witnesses who had every thing to loose by claiming to be a follower of Jesus. Why? When Jesus was killed they scattered. Afraid. BUT when they saw he was resurrected they became bold. Why?
Since the bible is reliable, and Jesus WAS here you must decide.
Was he a nut? A liar, Or who he claimed to be.

I didn't see your first question/answer but if you are Islamic it just seems odd that an entire religion is based on the teachings of one man. Jesus the Christ was prophesied over 300 times in the old test. Each prophecy was fulfilled including Crucifixion that wasn't even invented back then!

If there were a God, then the bible would be the work of the evil one, not the loving one.

Do you believe there is one true God? How do you know this? Because the bible says there is one true God. All other religions worship other gods or add to the Bible. The way to detect a lying spirit is to know what the bible says and hold everything up to it's light. Jesus countered Satan with "It is written," we should do the same.

well, i am not a very active christian in the sense that i rarely go to church, but i would say that the only thing that matters in this world is how you treat people, the golden rule takes care of almost all of the problems that people face each day with regard to behavior and such, even if "Satan" was your light, it doesn' mean that you aren't acting in a Christian way and that you should be able to distinguish between the two from a "distance"....obviously this person has too much time on his/her hands to be asking such questions....it's all up to you and what you have inside you that truly matters!

I know for a fact that YHVH isn't evil because of the goodness and the kindness He has DEMONSTRATED to me in my everyday walk. If you want to know, ask me about the literally countless miracles I received by simply asking Him for them.

As for Satan being a god, anyone who wants to choose Satan as his god is free to do so. But I personally hate evil, and despise the Embodiment of Evil himself, and would NEVER want him to be my god. Would anyone, except for the deceived -- the ones who have not tasted the GOODNESS of YHVH?
