Cat behavior problems are the most common reasons why owners give their cats up to shelters. Most have tried to deal with these problems for a long time, have tried every possible resource, and can't take it any more.
An aggressive cat can take many forms. From the simple nipping at your toes, to the more aggressive, and scary physical attacks on owners or other pets by their cats. Once you start to recognize early warning signs that your cat is in an angry mood you can take steps to change your cat's attention and mood.

Even though the cat and dog have known each other for awhile, if they don't live together, and the dog is just visiting for the holiday, the cat may not remember him! So, the cat is defending it's territory from a "stranger" in the house! If they live together, and this is something new, then I'd say the fact that the dog is now a year old, he's probably "putting off" some hormonal smells that the cat either doesn't like, or just doesn't recognize as being somebody that it should know. Try the squirt bottle "trick" on the cat, when it attacks. It won't do it many times, before it realizes what will happen! Mine run the other way, when I "show" them the squirt bottle, now! Good luck...................

Go to the shop and buy a small compressed air horn. The type that makes a quite loud, disagreeable noise and preserve it helpful. When he wishes to cuddle, cuddle him however have the horn capable. As quickly as he begins to do some thing you do not like, squeeze off a brief burst. (TOOT!) It will scare the hell out of him. Don't do it instantly at him or you can also harm his ears. Don't over do it both. You wish to consistantly do it each time you witness unhealthy habits. He will quickly work out that he must now not attempt to chew you. If utilizing the horn is a crisis take a look at a bit squirt gun. Let him have a squirt proper within the face. He would possibly not love it in any respect. He quite is not a foul boy he simply demands to be trained how one can be a well one. And please, do not be too anal. He must take delivery of a few leeway whilst he wishes to play. For tough condominium playtime, I use an historical ski glove. I placed it on and mug him. I roll him over, snatch his legs, snatch his face and neck. He bites the glove again and scrathes at it. He has a ball. After a few mins I take off the glove and supply it to him. He traditionally continues attacking it till he realizes he "killed" it. Then he's going to sniff at it and paw at it however it's useless. This is helping him relieve all his pussycat strain. He then will get calm and content material. I don't permit my cats into the bed room at bedtime, interval.
