What are we supposed to do in Heaven for eternity?

I'd like to think there was a higher purpose than just being blissfully happy forever and ever.

Revelation 5:10 You made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God and they are to rule over the earth.
So those who go to heaven rule over the earth. They do not have flesh and blood bodies so the don't eat, sleep or have sex. No marriage. Luke 20:35
Psalms 37:10,11 says the meek will inherit the earth.
Matthrew 5:5 Jesus says "the meek will inherit the earth."
Isaiah 65:17New cleansed earth, where we will build houses and live in it and grow our own food. We will stay young and good looking. The wolf and the lamb will feed as one.
No fighting even among the animals. You can lay in the forest and not fear.
Isaiah 35: the desert will blossom like the rose.
Isaiah 33:19 No foreign languages, we won't have to move off our inheritance. wide rivers and cannels.
spoil in abundance we will divide up. and no resident will say I am sick. All illnesses are gone.
Isaiah 34:17 we will each one have an inheritance a lot or place of our own.
Isaiah 34:16 Each one will have his own mate, so we will be married.
Isaiah 35:5 eyes of the blind ones will be opened deaf ones will hear. lame ones will walk and jump around. speachless ones will cry out in gladness.
So compare the earthly class to the ones who go to heaven?
I will take the earth anytime.

Luke chapter 22 has the account where after Jesus' last Passover, he began a new covenant. In verses 28-30, it shows these people will rule with Jesus in his Kingdom. As Rev. 5:10 shows they will be a combo of kings and priests in heaven over the earth.

So they have work to do, no laying around.

the earth was created originially for man to live forever, we know b/c of Adam's sin we inherited Death. Jesus' ransom sacrifice gave us that redemption. God's purpose for the earth and man has not changed. As brought out in Revelation only a select number will be in heaven and that is for the purpose of ruling over the ones on the earth.

as people we dont want to die, we have a desire to live on the earth, and that will be accomplished.

The Lords prayer that is in the bible we pray for his Kingdom to come on earth... Its a real government to rule on the earth, with humans living Here, not for an eternity in heaven, but here on earth, in conditions that are way different than the world now. Once this current government is replaced by one that is ruled by God, things will be better for everyone.

(Psalm 37:10-11) . . .And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:29) . . .The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside forever upon it. . .

(Revelation 21:1-4) . . .And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

First, you need to realize there is no such thing as "time" in eternity. So boredom can't possibly set in. And exactly what do you see wrong with being "blissfully happy forever and ever"????

Heaven / Hell sounds the same to me
someones idea of heaven can be anothers idea of hell

eg worshipping god for an eternity sounds like heaven to some but hell to me.
who would want to be a god botherer .....
if you worship and belive in god fair do enjoy it
but dont thrust it down peoples necks that dont believe in it

as they say youre a long time dead so live for life and stuff them all i say.

In Heaven you worship God forever, and there's a constant joy in your heart that cannot even be compared to Earthly happinesses. It seems boring at first, but the more you get into the Bible and read about Heaven the better it sounds. ^_^

By believing in Jesus and being “saved” you will get one of the first seats in Heaven to watch how the vast majority of the human beings including your “unsaved” family members and old acquaintances will be tormented in a sulfuric Hell fire lake or what have you for ever and ever and you will get a chance to poke fun and tease at them all you want for ever and ever… That’s HEAVEN! No wonder Jesus said that you must hate your father and your mother and everybody else to follow him, especially if they are "unsaved" and go to HELL! You will hear a lot of “I told you so…” from Sweet Jesus!

Luke 16:23-25-NIV (Jesus is telling us…) AND BEING IN TORMENTS IN HELL, he* (*a rich man in Hell) lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; FOR I AM TORMENTED IN THIS FLAME.’(and Jesus all excited continues the story telling…) But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and YOU ARE TORMENTED! (Hey, these are words of Sweet Jesus… he will enjoy watching the Christians teasing those in HELL!)

Revelation 14:10-11 "he, too, will drink of the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. HE WILL BE TORMENTED WITH BURNING SULFUR in the presence of the holy angels and of the LAMB* (*aka God the Son Jesus Christ, and some Christians who will ALWAYS be with him wherever he goes/John 17:24). And the smoke of their torment rises FOR EVER AND EVER. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name."

So if you got saved make sure that you pay your tithes and offering or you will be given a Christian burial without next of kin notification and go to HELL for sinning against the Holy Ghost! (Acts 5:1-11)!!!

Since we are creative beings I believe each of us are going to be even more creative. Each have our own creative expression, that going to be eternal bliss for all. Image each of us being uniquely creative each with our assigned expression. For you it can be dance, for me art you another singing, for another building for another engineering and so on... I am sure it will wonderful because there won't no need to learn it because we will know it.
