I've heard mixed reviews about spray tanning. I'd like to try it sometime before my wedding to see if it's an option for me. What experiece have you had with it?

Did you look orange?
Does it rub off on clothes?
Is it worth it?

I love spray tanning. You need to do it a few times to figure out what level (or shade of tanner) you need for your skin tone.

However, I would NOT do it for your wedding. I never where white after I've spray tanned. The tanner can rub off onto white clothing. Especially, if you get wet or you sweat.

First, try out spray tanning way in advance of the wedding, so that you know what you look like and can find what shade of tan you want. I love spray tans, especially the Mystic Tan. And please, go to a salon for a spray tan. The at-home kits always leave you orange, and with streaks. No matter what! It is worth the money to go in and have it done!

Be sure to not go too dark, then you end up not looking like yourself. The point is a "healthy glow." Once or twice is all that is needed.

However, I am a bit concerned with a spray tan and the white dress. For me, it would be too risky to have the orange run off onto the dress.

Honestly, are you against regular tanning? It would be my best bet for getting a healthy glow. I tan very easily so twice or three times at most in a booth is all I need to tan. Despite what many believe, yes, tanning causes skin cancer. But two or three times for ten minutes, is nothing compared to a long day outside.

But it is up to you!

Not worth it....at all.

I've tried all the tanning products out there. Your best bet is to use a tanning booth. It's unhealthy, yes, but it's also the only thing out there that *really* works.

Dove's line of lotion works well, but it rubs off and is extremely smelly (same with Jergen's lotion-yuck). Leave on tanners usually have an orange hue to them and either a) Smell horrible or b) Stain clothes. It's the same thing with spray on tanning.

My friend and I got it done (thinking we'd be safer than the old fake bake). After you get sprayed you HAVE to rub it in EVENLY (which is stupid...you can pretty much do it yourself for the prices you have to pay). My friend had an orange nose and I had orange feet for weeks.

If you decide to use a tanning booth, don't go crazy. Go for a few minutes (like 4) every other day until you reach the hue you want. After the wedding, stop going.

I know I'm going to get thumbs down for recommending this unhealthy process, but oh well. I wouldn't want to take the chance of looking like an Oompa Loompa on my wedding day.

I went for one 2 weeks before the wedding and I must say the lady that explained it to us did not explain it properly which may have been why mine did not come out so well. I am very fair and she insisted I have a medium tan, this was way too dark for me and it looked like I had been varnished. There were also a couple of spots where it ran and went streaky and also a part of my arm that never got sprayed so I had a half-white arm. I decided it was not a good look for me and I am glad I did not go for it on my wedding day.

I don't care for the spray booth, I prefer to have a woman spray the tan on with the handheld machine. The booth sprayer was not as accurate and it came off a little on my clothes when I was driving home. If you are going to try before the wedding, I suggesting trying it a few months in advance that way if it's not what you hoped for you can look for a second location.

Don't do it for a wedding. There's the chance of staining.
Just as an aside, there was an episode of the tv show Wedding Crashers from last year which involves spray tanning and the bridesmaids/bride. It's hilarious! Maybe you can google it or find it on youtube.
Oh, I did it just for the heck of it - there's a clip on this site -

It absolutely does not look orange. It would only rub off if you put your clothes on while it is still wet. Totally worth it.

Give it a try several weeks before your wedding so you can see how it works with your skin... that way if you DON'T like it, it will be gone long before the wedding. It usually looks best if you do it the day before... so schedule your tanning for the day before the wedding.

i tried spray tanning and i loved it! BUT, it all depends on ur skin complextion. I have a tan olive color so i looked like i sat in the sun all day, but if ur very pale or have a no color then it might look orange!, and it does come off on clothes the 1st couple of days so if u do it get it a coiple days before ur wedding ...not the day b4! n i think its only $30 or something like that...but try it u might like it...hope this helps
