He just told me "if you want to we can," so I took it like he didn't really want to. Is that the right interpretation?

i think it means...i wasnt really planning on it and im not that into you,but sure.............or wow!you really want to...i didnt think you liked me....

Kinda weird huh? It almost sounds like he wants to be sure this isn't a date or it could just be that he didn't think before he spoke. We do that sometimes. Why don't you just ask him and tell him you want this to be a real date and see what he says. Why spend the money if you don't have to .

I would take it as a yes. If he didn't want to, he would have said no.
I had a boyfriend who used to say things like that and I knew he didn't mean anything by it. I eventually learned not to try to read anything into the way he answered.

yes, ur right. he either is just going cuz he understands u are paying(since u asked) and a free movie is easy enough since u don't have to talk.

he just doesn't want to hurt ur feelings by saying no.

Guys are simple minded dorks, he is probably someone who does not like making decisions, you seem like someone who makes too many and over thinks things perfect match, go have fun...stop over thinking... that drives guys nuts.

'' if you want to we can''..of course, you want to..that's why you asked him...but then again, he's probably nervous..because one time a guy asked me for a kiss and i responded with '' if you want to ''.lolz..it's funny now when i think about it...

He was probably shocked. Either that he liked you in the first place, or there is a slight chance that he doesn't like you.

I think he wants to, otherwise he would just reject you. Some men answer questions like that with uncertainty, hiding their true feelings.

you need to reply "well whatever" and walk away. cause he wants to know you really want to date him. And if you say that and he calls after you. he really wants to date YOU.
