Many atheists claim Christians and other religious people are deluded. Is it possible that atheists are the ones that are actually deluded?

There are people who claim to be on both sides of the aforementioned fence that are deluded.
Not many, are the people that have truly looked at the evidence without prejudice.

It is all interpretation.

People do think funny things, whatever the reason.

Atheists, Christians, different religious sects, all people.

The truth will set you free.
From the look of this forum, not many people are free yet.
Why fight someone else's opinion.

Live your truth, that is the only true way to live this life.
One day it will all be revealed, until then maybe allow people their views. Give yours if asked.
But this bashing each other is really a waste.
Judge not, or you will be judged.

Peace to all and their myriad of views.
That is what makes the world go round and round and round.
Most people here are actually here because they are bored, or enjoy the "having a go" or have some idea that getting "points" means something in the scheme of things.

Peace
God is Gracious, this I know.

No, not even if there is a God.

It boils down to reason versus faith. "Delusion" is a pretty negative synonym for faith, and probably not entirely appropriate for civil discourse, but a conviction without and against evidence could be called a delusion, but a "conviction" based on evidence could not be. Perhaps this conviction is wrong, but if all the current evidence favors it, then it could not be rightfully called a delusion.

P.S.: if you admit the religion is probably not true but you stick to it because you couldn't otherwise be happy or motivated then you basically admit being deluded.

Anything is possible, but it's far more probable that you guys are the ones who are deluded.

Of course it is.

However, the question isn't one of possibility, but of probability. That is, you should be asking, "Is it =probable= that atheists are deluded?"

The objective evidence indicates the god-concept of the Bible is not fact-based, but is in fact a mythological constuct of pre-scientific peoples.

People who follow the evidence to the conclusion that it's unlikely gods exist, especially the anthropomorphic gods of religions like Christianity, are more likely correct.

No. You're only deluded if you believe in something that doesn't exist. Not believing in something because you have seen no evidence for it, isn't being deluded, it's being rational.

We may be deluded. However, the lack of evidence that supports the existence of any god makes our position less likely to be delusional.

I really think you should honestly think about what you just said.

If someone believed a big pink giraffe could read their mind, would you call them deluded?

Think about it.
