He's dying. Probably from parvo or parasites. Why didn't they take him to the vet sooner?

Dog needs to get to the vet. I wouldn't wait any longer. The more blood that is lost the more lethargic the dog becomes and could die.

There are many reason an animal will bleed from their rectum. But the only sure way to find out is to see a vet. I highly suggest that route.

If you livei n a city, there has to be a 24/hr vet open. I would take the dog there ASAP.. (I have to ask myself, why you are asking for advise when the dog is bleeding 'non-stop' from its butt. If this was a child, what would you do?) I hope the puppy is ok, but if you dont know what to do in an emergency, did you really consider getting a puppy correctly in the first place??

You need to find a vet ER, if that's not possible get him in in the morning.

My chi, was bleeding frm his rectum earlier this year. He'd accidently gotten ahold of some raw pork, and ended up with some sort of intestinal parasite type thing. It was awful, he was so weak, wouldn't eat or drink. We rushed straight to the vet and he was put on antibiotics, and zantac, and lovely diet of chicken brothe till his tummy was better.

Edit: to those of you positive there's a vet ER where ever they are located, I have news for you, that isn't the case in the country. We don't have one, many other places don't either.

Go to the vet, it is definitly internal bleeding, either the dog at something that is stuck (chicken bones) or it has some kind of bowel condition, anything farther up the system would just mix in with the poop, it depends on if it is seperate or if youre dog has red poop. But no mater what it is you should go to the vet.

It might mean that the dog has worms, which there are pills for at petsmart, or maybe he ate something hard, like a bone. My parent's dog had that problem, but it was just because he ate a bone. I also have in the past had cats with that problem and it was because they weren't neutered. Both times I thought it was worms, but luckily it wasn't! I would probably take the dog to the vet immediately when it is open.

Losing your pet is so hard. The only way to know how they died is to have the vet evaluate their bodies after death. May this have taught you a lesson about having an emergency fund set aside for unexpected vet expenses. Unfortunately pets never take into consideration our financial situation when they start feeling unwell. Perhaps if you had had the money required for vet care, you wouldn't have lost both your pets from an unknown ailment. Vets save lives.

Get him to an animal emergency center. Most vets offices are almost never closed to emergencies. They are on call. Leave a voice message or a request with their answering service.

He may be dying. Be responsible. Take care of it.

Not much. He probably has pinworms. I hope that's what it is. He's not bleeding from anywhere else, right? Is there a vet ER in your area? Try also kennels or other boarding houses for animals. They might have someone on staff who could help.
