Why are certain people always asking why there's no churches or synagogues in Saudi Arabia, but Quraan says

022.040 (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is God". Did not God check one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of God is commemorated in abundant measure. God will certainly aid those who aid his (cause);- for verily God is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will).

There wouldn't be any room for it, anyway.

There really aren't many mosques in Rome, for that matter. At one point in it's history, not too long ago, the Pope authorized for there to be 1 mosque in the city, 1 protestant church, and 1 synagogue, and 961 Catholic churches.

The Vatican itself encompasses such a small area, there are fewer than, ah, I'd say 20 buildings within the area of the Vatican. It isn't so much a matter of the Pope not wanting it there as it is a matter of there not being any room.

Vatican City, the smallest independent country in the world, is an enclave within the city of Rome, and is the headquarters of the worldwide Catholic Church. It consists of about 109 acres (about the size of a typical U.S. community college campus.)

There is not much room for many people to live there; the resident population of Vatican City is only 821 (as of 2007), of which most are Catholic clergy, and the rest are the Swiss Guard (traditional security personnel.) 100% are Catholic. The many other people who work inside the Vatican live outside it, in the surrounding neighborhoods of Rome.

Although no Muslims live in the Vatican itself, many do live in the city of Rome, and a good-sized mosque has been built there. A photo may be seen at http://flickr.com/photos/synth/198221037/

No. The Vatican is a Roman Catholic enclave located within the city limits of Rome. Like an embassy, it is independent of the city and country where it's located. For obvious reasons, there is no Mosque in the Vatican.

I do not believe so.
The Vatican encompasses a rather small region. Space is at a premium, and the entire city-state is a Catholic theocratic nation. Therefore it seems like an extremey unlikely scenario.
