When I got my dog from Oklahoma, I was told that it is state law to have pets from shelters spayed/neutered to prevent further populations of stray animals. If you are really interested in breeding and selling animals, you should talk with another breeder to find out how to get started. Like most other answers to this, I think you should consider adopting from a rescue shelter. The animal population deserves the same things as the human race-humanity. Don't bring more innocent animals into this world when there are millions of strays who need a good home. Good luck.

Are you insane? Why would you want to breed a mix dog? Not to mention get an animal shelter SHUT DOWN for not complying with laws. They have to fix any animal pure or mix before it can leave, just because of ppl like you who want to buy a mixed breed, with no knowledge of its background/health history and breed it uncontrollably. You should not even own a dog if all you think about is how you can bribe someone at a shelter to keep a dog intact. Its obvious you only have your own needs in mind and not that of the dog.

No, shelters always spay and neuter before they adopt out. Also it is in most shelter contracts that you can not breed those dogs. Besides if you are adopting from a shelter then you obviously realize that there are too many dogs in this world already so now you just have to realize that it would be stupid to bring more dogs into it.

Why would you want to in the first place? Breeding a mutt to a mutt isn't going to get you puppies that people will want to pay for. And no, no reputable shelter will do something like this, because they know they're just trading your two dogs for however many puppies you end up breeding and selling to irresponsible owners who will dump them once they start causing trouble, assuming you can sell them at all.

Thankfully the answer is absolutely not. They will not waiver on this at all because they are doing us a huge favor by enforcing this rule. There are so many animals without homes because of unneeded breeding, we don't need anymore because of you. No offense, but we as a human race have to think about what's really best for everyone in the long run.

Oh SHAME on YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why don't you just NOT get a dog???
You would be quite the hypocrite for adopting a shelter dog and then making puppies out of them.
By adopting from the shelter, you are supposed to be helping one less dog be killed. By producing more puppies, you are not helping the problem at ALL!!
This is what all the breeders in America do not understand and thus why we have dog overpopulation.

If you want breeding stock, you don't want a mutt from a shelter. You want a healthy dog with good temperament. Look for good breeding stock from reliable breeders.

You need to have a breeding license to breed in the first place. Besides, it's law, and the shelter is certainly not going to listen. We don't need any more homeless pets around.

If you are the only person on the planet that is willing to adopt these dogs, then being euthanized is they're only hope. I just have one question for you. WHY????? I'd love to get an answer that makes any kind of sense.
