I don't think either one of these will allow you to type in the destination, at least not conveniently - the keyboard on the TomTom I tried was awkward kind of entry for me. If you are used to some texting methods, it may be easier. After blundering through the demo in the store, I was impressed by the way it switched modes, but unhappy that it skipped streets in talking - so if walking or biking, it did not name the streets being crossed even though they showed up on the display.
Try them in a store that has them running in demo mode.
Be aware that most GPS will force you to walk the route a car would drive (in other words you can't walk the wrong way on a one way street) and most GPS that work from putting in an address will be wrong by anywhere from a few dozen to a few hundred feet, especially on addresses down the block from the reference intersection (e.g. because it puts 6366 in the wrong place, it has you turn left from a street that comes in the middle of the block.) This has to do with failure of the street address to LatLong software to use the end of block house numbers.

I've been a Garmin user for a long time, so I'm a little biased, but I would go with the c330. It looks like it uses the same software as the Nuvi series devices that are very user friendly. The only downside that I can say for the c330 is it is a point to point device. If you want to go to a place via another point, you have to route to the via point first, and then route to the final destination after you get to the via point. not a convenient as setting the route to include all points, but it works.

Whatever happens DO NOT GET A MAGELLAN!!!!
Do not get steered into buying a Magellan!!!
I currently own a Roadmate and there design flaws and manufacturing flaws.
To make matters worse, they have absolutely horrible customer service. They have been fixing my unit for well over a month now.
At first they were saying they never received the unit, that it got lost in shipping (I was happy because I am tired of dealing with these idiots at Magellan, I want a TomTom)
I went to file a claim at the post office and I was told that the item was delivered, and that it was NOT lost.
Now it has been one excuse after another, and that it should ship in a day or two.
They are a bunch of liars and Magellan truly does not care about it's customers!!!!!!

I have done some research and found out the TT one 3rd ed. got voted the top gps this year. Plus I own one also. But for my best opion I would recommended you go with the garmin since it got alot more features and spec. such as sd memory slot, usb, battery life, etc. However the price are alittle different from both. If I were you saved a little more money and upgrade to higher end with a bluetooth, mp3 player, bigger screen all in one unit. Costco seem to be a good place to buy. since there warranty it good.

ok, right this is what you should ask your self. What i'm I going to apply it for.walking interior the woods? Geocaching? turn by employing turn? GPS expenses go from a hundred greenbacks to thousands. i'm a Lowrance person. I also have a Iway 250 and a XOG those are turn by employing turn. xog is going for 219.00 at BassPro. I geocache so I even have day holiday C those run approximately 260 yet on the hand helds they might get lots greater value-effective. it extremely is all what you want to do, As for places to purchase exterior activities shops, Bestbuy ,Circuit city ,Comp u . s . a ., Walmart, objective, Ebay

We went to The Source (radio shack). We asked all about them: the differences, what they each do: talking, mapping, etc., which ones they thought were the best, then we looked at the sales and pricing and chose. We love ours which talks and tells you how close you are to the turn, etc. It also tells us where the malls and attractions are. It will also bring you back to where you cam from. We payed under $300 for W3G NEXTAR. It got through Montreal at 140kms/hr on a motorcycle. We didn't know the place at all. Good luck.

I`d recommend Tom Tom, left Scotland and got me to the Czech Republic without any hiccups... . and then back again, travelled through 7 countries in 4 days and totalled over 2K miles... . Tom Tom took me there and back without a hitch ;)
