My friend does preaching for his church all the time and goes on trips to Japan to convert people, but it wasn't till recently that they got him a new Toyota Avalon with 20 inch chrome plated rims. The car is an extravaganza to say the least. It gives him the look of being a wealthy man. In fact, every time he preaches he goes out in nice suits with shiny jewelry.

I know the churches make a lot of money in what their doing, but this all somehow seems wrong to me.

You are right! What they are doing is wrong. It isn't wrong to be wealthy. There were men of God in the Bible who were wealthy. But the Bible clearly warns against vanity. Also, this "game" sounds alot like gambling to me. I could be wrong, it may have been innocent. But what else would bring in enough for a 40,000 dollar car? One has to wonder. The Bible speaks against gambling as well. If he sold that car/jewelry and gave the money to the poor. That would truly be serving God. Jesus never was rich nor his disciples or apostles. They went about taking what people gave and never scoffed @ the poor. Note the women w/ only only 2 mites to give. That's equivalent to 2 cents! But God honored her for it cause it was truly all she had to give. Pray him that HE/his church would see the light. They are in obvious need of prayer. God Bless!

I should start a religion.
There's good money to be made from selling religion IF you can keep a straight face.
