I know not EVERYBODY does this. Some people do give well thought out answers. Others try to, but only give quotes and site refernces. Many do not understand what they are referencing. I have seen both believer and non believers try and mis quote the bible to prove a point. I have seen belivers and non believers site references that have nothing to do with the question they are answering. Generally it is just a website, or book that explains their beliefs, or lack of.
So honestly, why bother answering a question if you are not going to put effort into it? Why come here? Do you think you are making a point? Or making your fellow believers look good?
For me personally, most people will not change my mind. But I still want to know what you think of something. Why else would I come here?

worldneverchanges- I am ok. Its still early afternoon here, so i'll get back to you at the end of my day. But the chargers are winning, so its looking good. No, I do not feel better. I will feel better when people stop using this board in particular just to get points. There are plenty of other boards for that.

Hi, how are you doing? Did you have a great day? Aren't you glad you got that off of your chest? :) :) :)
Edit : Well, what do you know? The Chargers kicked the Ravens. :)
This is a public board. People are going to come on here to get points. Doesn't matter which board it is. These boards are not moderated either so there really is no control unless you report someone. There are times when a question has already been posed and there is an answer. Instead of typing out the answer people just copy and paste. Many people do not take the time to read the entire question like the one you are asking. It is easy to read the first line and give some kind of an answer. Getting upset over it is of no use. As I mentioned before, it is a public board and people are free to post what they want. It is not going to help any if you feel otherwise.

Olden times, many women were oppressed. Made sense that not much would stand up at the time. Surah was made banning the Prophet Muhammad (Saw) from being so nice to his wives (I think; the Surah itself was called something like banning as well). Qur'an was unbelievably accurately handled. Zaid ibn Thabit (Ra), although knew the whole Qur'an off by heart, when asked to compile the Qur'an, made sure at least 2 witnesses were there when the Prophet (Saw) himself gave the verse. And took some other precautions I think. Athiests, all thinking by themselves? Tell them to write their morals in a book, you'll get as much controversy as there is about religious books. The pakistanis with following scholars? Loads can ony listen to media, without taking the time to research thoroughly; whats the difference? Sharia law... That I need to do more research on. If I gave you an answer now I probably might be lieing. Some Christians believe in you should not kill and follow it. Pacifists? The fatwa from scholars? If you follow their steps which lead them to the fatwas maybe you might change your mind. If you don't agree, then argue back, with support? By the way, I might look like I'm making excuses, but you did give me all the questions... Insha'Allah you'll find a way to get through these questions. Just keep patient and look out for the answers.

What exactly is wrong with short answers? I tend to assume that most people don't want to read three-, four-, five-paragraph responses. A lot of times the best answer to a question is a sentence, or a link, or a quote, or something simple. You don't necessarily have to type out an essay every single time. If I can say what I want to say quickly, why shouldn't I?
Edit: Actually, I'll even go so far as to say that the shortest answers are often the MOST thoughtful and intelligent. Not always, obviously, but I've found that to be the case a lot of the time.

Perhaps it's because people ask questions about a generalization and not out of reality or assume that the referenced material does not relate.
I can often see why a person would think that a site is a reasonable explanation if you don't read it objectively.
Also, these sections under S&C tend to be answered very quickly, so there is more chance to make your point if you answer quickly and make it onto the first pageof answers.

Because a lot of people follow others in beliefs, while others can only think up one sentence answers. If everybody was to think for themselves and write for more than 1 sentence there wouldn't be such a thin as an idiot or moron.
Hope you get better answers than this! Currently at school... :(

Most questions reveal much about where a person is spiritually, and many times, as with food, if you were to give too much, it would just sit on the table and go to waste. If a person was inclined to investigate a one sentence answer, then this would show signs of waking up to a truer sense of reality and life. Why worry about things of this nature?

On rare occasions, I just provide a link and a "Look here:". Why reinvent the wheel on a long answer? I'm far more prone to do that in biology than here. If I provide the link, it has the answer is succinct form, probably with graphics I can't provide.

Lemmings are taught to spam out what they are taught.
No religion wants anything to do with open minded people.
So open minded people will generally not speak out for religion.
Most only know how to shuffle you into the lemming heard.
When an open minded person does speak out, all religion breaks loose, each pointing out how the idea is preposterous,
Which says to me they are too narrow to even think for themselves.

Some all answers need or deserve is a sentence. If there is something I feel strongly about, yes I will type out a full answer.

Many are not here to answer questions. They are here to bash other people who have different beliefs.
