Okay well I've had this phone for 2 years come April. And starting 2 days ago, It's been acting really strange, when I put it on the charger, It would turn itsself off, and just weird stuff. And yesterday, I went to make a call, and it shut off [with full battery] and I got the white startup screen [the blank one.] but when it turned on, all I could see was the battery symbol, and the signal in the upper left and right hand corners.and the blank theme background.. There were/are no buttons on the bottom that read, "Menu, and Calls" anymore. I can't make calls on it, Nothing will show up except for that screen. The only thing it will do is play music, and even then, it doesn't work right. The 'play' button is in the upper left hand corner. Everything is screwed up. When I try to make a call, (out of memory where the buttons are) it gives me the sound like there's no signal. And when I turn it on, it makes the sound you get when you put it on speakerphone. I've never dropped it either

In this case, I would recommend removing the battery, and then putting it back on. I used to work as a tech support for Verizon, and 75-80% of the problems were solved by simply removing the battery and putting it back on. Sometimes the most complex problems have a very simple solution.
If that doesn't work, you should call your service provider. It may be a known issue, and there may be a software download that could fix it. If you have Verizon service, you can get the software download by dialing *228 and pressing option 2.
