Because they are blinded, sadly, to what its really about. Good question!
Added: There was no CHRISTmas before Christ, people! Those who celebrate yule or the Sun God's birth or whatever, are celebrating just that, NOT CHRISTmas.

Some people don't believe in Jesus and celebrate holidays other than Christmas or they like the idea of giving gifts and spending time with family.

Christmas is not when Jesus was born but the birthday of the Sun god. Christmas with presents and yule has been celebrated for thousands of years before Jesus was born.

Ah, I love it... sen - hypocrites? And just how is it NOT hypocritical for Christians to be celebrating Pagan holidays while telling Pagans they're going to hell for doing? LOL!!! Some of you people are friggin hilarious.
I celebrate Yule. Have for years. I go to Christmas dinner at my parents house, who are Christians (I am Heathen). And even at their house, Jesus is not part of the celebration. Christmas is a time to be with family... it's not a religious holiday for my parents. Nor for any of my friends, whom are all Christian.

I, my family and Kindred celebrate the original holiday of the Solstice - all 12 days and nights of it. The Yuletide season had nothing to do with the birth of a savior god of the christians. Like Easter (and where did that term come from? Ostara = Heathen holiday of Spring and rebirth), Christmas was hijacked so Christians could lure pagans into their religion.

Because Jesus was never in it from the beginning, it was a pagan celebration.

One reason is that for generations before Christ there was a midwinter celebration that recognized that the hours of daylight had stopped shrinking, and were again increasing. It was a time of celebrating the return of light to the world.
