It sounds like your cat is grooming you.
Have you ever watched other cats groom each other. The cat grooming will bite the other cat ( love bites, not the real deal) as if to say, hold still while I groom you and clean you up. Many times you will see a mother cat do this to her young or the dominate cat in a household.
When a cat grooms you it is meant as a compliment. They do so hoping it will feel good to you because it does to them.
One thing I should mention however is about bites that break the skin. These bites go beyond love bites. A cats mouth contains the staff virus and in about 80 percent of cases will develope some form of serious infection. Ive written an article you should find helpful. Heres the link...

Some cats are like that , they are insecure and nervous . Maybe next time you want to pet her , call her first and let her come to you . Then she's more likely to know what to expect.

stop petting when she goes 'hyper' she thinks your hand is prey so is trying to kill it by iting and kicking and when you hold still she thinks she has killed it so she can then lick it (cats do this to dehair their prey) when my lot start doing this i gently blow in their faces and put them down, they now understand that when i stroke and pet i don't like being bitten and kicked. i have also scruffed them when they get too much ,the biggest is 8kg of pure muscle so this is the only way to calm him down

Well if your cat is still young, he/she is still probably going through teething to the adult teeth if it's an adult he/she probably has something wrong with her/his teeth which may be a clue to go to the vet to get a little check-up. If that doesn' help, just usea squirt bottle and spray him/ her or just kinda smack it to make him/her stop.
Hoped i helped!!!

Let her smell your hand before you pet her, and don't "pet" her, just "stroke" her, or gently "rub" her. She'd just trying to let you know that she doesn't like the "way" you're being with her. Maybe, you pet her too heavily? Try the smelling/stroking and see how she likes that. Good luck..........

Cats are smart and learn quick...I have a kitten going through this..
He's learning to play nice by me pulling away quick and saying "ouch" to let him know it was too rough...

Mine does the same. I either flick her ear when she starts it. Or if she bit my finger i'd press it on her tongue lightly she didn't like that. Of course it could be you are over petting her and she doesn't like it. That or it's her odd sense of affection.
Wish you luck.
