Do not do weights, that is not the reason you are dropping your hands. It is poor training and drills.
When throwing a punch the hand should return to the guard position at the same speed it was thrown.

It is just a bad habit. My trainer used to stand behind me and slap me on the side of the head with a glove anytime my hands dropped.
It doesn't take long to get out of that habit.

Lifting weights is a taboo in boxing. While training with weights has become more accepted in recent years(in boxing) it is widely regarded as a hindrance to promote fast hands. Punching a speed bag/heavy bag and sparring with gloves helps with your boxing arm strength. Keep training with the gloves on, you'll get used to the demands of wearing them in the ring, thus keeping your "dukes" up..............

Yes, it will help you a lot. Also, speed bag work will help you keep your arms up. Don't worry 'bout that weight training thing getting you slow. It's absolutely a myth that has long been disproved in most any sport discipline.

try shadow boxing or working the heavy bag while holding a basketball of soccerball in the middle of your left arm and that will help you keep your lead arm up and out in front. Also try to work your shoulders with superman push-ups

Since you're looking for endurance instead of bulk try mixing in reps of light weight shoulder exercises into your routine.

No, spend more time sparring. When you keep leaving the ring with your eyes closed up from dropping your guard...you will remember to keep your hands up.
