Many people who ride say breeches all the time. We occasionally say skedaddle and hooligan when the situation calls for it. I got congratulated for properly using flabbergasted in a sentence one day. I like using less common words.

I live in NYC and never heard the words skedaddle or hooligan used in any context relating to horse attire. We do use the word breeches though.

I say breechers... and i also say hooligans... but i say it in gest of some silly western movie i saw once... "damn hooligans"
