The last thing you need is more credit since you've obviously not had a good track record with credit in the past (hence the lousy FICO score). Stick to paying cash. If you don't have the money, don't buy it!

You cannot clear up a$50 blockbuster bill (which sound like allot of late fees) yet you want someone to extend you credit for the holidays? Will bet there is more than medical bills associated with your score, been there. Lets put it this way if someone owed you mucho money, and has not paid it in months, nor made an attempt to pay it, would you offer them even more money that most likely will not get paid? Put yourself in their shoes what would you do? You cannot pay the debt you have, yet want to go deeper in debt. Not a good move. Sometimes we have to explain to our children that things are going to be lean this year. Not easy, not pleasant but have had to do it in the past. They are now grown up, remember it and understand and have an appreciation of not only the dollar, but of where it comes from. Yes we all want to add to, or be part of the hype and big gifts expected for the holidays, and none of us want to disappoint our children, but unfortunately, financially we must. Hard at the present but is in the future that we reap the benefits

If you're in collections for a lousy $50 at Blockbuster, then you have NO BUSINESS with a credit card. If you want a guaranteed credit card, you're going to have to put up the money for it. If you've already got the money, what do you need a card for? Stick with cash, honey.

did you try a pre paid credit card? green dot is a good one. they have both master card and visa.
if you do get a credit card that is not pre paid, watch the intrest rates. try going through your bank or a credit union to get a credit card that is not prepaid if you really insist on paying the intrest. your personal bank or credit union can offer APR as low as 2.9%. that sure beats 29.99% from these other companies.
good luck and happy holidays.

pay the Blockbuster collections off, and start paying off the medical bills. if you cant afford to do this then you cant afford a credit card.
they look at the medical bills as un paid loans. you need to pay them off. work something out with the Dr. or who ever it is owed to.

it's a little late now. even if you applied and were accepted, you probably wouldn't get the card in time to use it for Xmas
